can anybody(Bubba) explain how Central Reservations works and if SP/Powdr would make money off it?
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

Central Reservations can be used for lodging or lodging plus skiing/lesson packages. Even if you just use it for lodging and don't purchase any kind of package, there's a percentage that goes to the mountain.

I'm in, midweek pass, and I intend to bring food all days this year. (I used to buy food most days in the lodges, even though it wasn't exactly fantastic).

We will be bringing our lunch to the mountain in order to save money. The kids will have to go without the fries with cheese and I will have to go without the brownies and the sushi.

Edit: I still have $10 in rewards money that I will probably use to buy something from one of the k shops or food counters.

Ok, on the flipside, when they announce no season extension this year or a LATER opening date next year due to poor revenues, no instananeous bitchin' and moaning 15 page threads about how they're being cheapskates. You can't have it both ways.

I have 6-7 hundred $'s of the Killington funny money vouchers that went with the edge card. ASC got that money unless they cut a deal with KSRP to honor them. So it looks like I'll be skiing and drinking and not giving them a dime, I think I win.
You can still use those vouchers at Killington! They're being honored by POWDR!? You should give them a call, but you should be able to use them for whatever you want as long as they haven't expired. We used $200 worth when we bought our season passes. You could've gotten a blackout pass for free with what you have and still have about $200 left over!

From the FAQ's: Can I use my Edge Rewards Certificates to purchase my pass?
Yes. Call us at 800-887-3257 and purchase your pass using a credit card. Mail in your valid certificates prior to the pass deadline and we will refund the amount of your valid certificate to your credit card payment:

I did not get a season pass this year, I will not be riding at their mountain at all this year, and they keep spending money sending me and my wife those stupid mailings saying how they important I am to them (Up until I changed my address to K's address and directed them at Nyberg anyway - so now they are spending money to send themeselves mail!). f*** POWDR, I'll be back when they are gone and someone else realizes that the mountain needs upgrades and that opening early is good for them in the long run.

on the flip side of that IF they'd tell me what the vision for K was in terms of lift improvements, lodge renovations, snowmaking upgrades, or perhaps even an artists rendering of the new Village I might be more inclined to give them my money.

Right now they're just a carnival barker claiming that if I fork over my cash I can behold the wonders of the new "quality product"

I want to see that my money is ACTUALLY going to be re-invested in the mountain and not just used to give Nyberg a bonus
