Any word on when it's going to open? Or at least get snowmaking?

I'd guess sometime after they recover from the r*in. (We shall see, I don't believe it until I see it).

We had to repair a pipe up on Launch Pad over the weekend. We're doing some resurfacing tonight and into Wednesday night, then we'll hit Double Dipper, Downdraft, Superstar and then move onto Ovation in the next few days.

Will the full length of Ovation be seeing snowmaking? Or just mid and lower?

let it be known that many of us would be extremely EXTREMELY happy if it was "just" the mid and LOWER part of ovation (extra emphasis on LOWER).

We'll start at the top and work down, similar to what we did with Superstar.

Why? I'd love to see some snowmaking on the headwall, it isn't going to be open much otherwise with the trees on most of it, and most people don't take Nivis Walk anyway.

Well, if they actually blew some snow on the headwall (skier's left still is open enough) then people might actually use Nivis. Besides, with the waterslide gone it is now possible to do laps on Ovation using the SS Quad. The only way to get to upper or middle O from the Quad is Nivis. And it's not like the headwall is so long that it would require too much snowmaking capacity anyways.

The weather forecast is looking so perfect right now... Around the clock snowmaking, and Snow in the forecast for 7 of the next 10 days... As long as that Monday Storm is Snow, we will be doing really well this time next week. This coming weekend, as long as the weather forecast doesn't change to r*in for Monday, I'll bet they have 42+ trails open, and maybe a lot more if we got 8 to 9+ inches of natural this week...

Nov 27 Tonight
Flurries and a few snow showers throughout the night. Low near 20F. Chance of snow 50%.

Nov 28 Tomorrow
Sunshine and clouds mixed. Cold. High 28F.

Nov 28 Tomorrow night
Overcast. Low 21F.

Nov 29 Thursday
r*in and snow showers. Highs in the upper 30s and lows in the low 20s.

Nov 30 Friday
Chance of a few snow showers. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the upper teens.

Dec 1 Saturday
A few snow showers. Highs in the low 20s and lows in the low teens.

Dec 2 Sunday
Considerable cloudiness. Highs in the mid 20s and lows in the upper teens.

Dec 3 Monday
Snow showers possible. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the mid teens.

Dec 4 Tuesday
Snow showers at times. Highs in the mid 20s and lows in the mid teens.

Dec 5 Wednesday
Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the low teens.

Dec 6 Thursday
A few snow showers. Highs in the upper 20s and lows in the low teens.

That's the last time I skied it (other than those few days last year they dropped the rope with barely any snow on it), and I remember having to still jump the trees and crap on the headwall, didn't think they made snow on it... started at Nivis Walk. But I could be wrong....

It looks like they mowed down the trees on half the width of the Ovation headwall, skiers left.

From the K snow Report:

"Our world class snowmaking crew has set up snowmaking guns on signature trail, Ovation; you can look forward to skiing and riding on it soon."

Trail report still says no snowmaking yet...
