I loaded up the Amigo and left Baltimore with my buddy Steve at 5pm. Steve fell asleep almost immediately. I prefer to have an awake navigator but if you know Steve, you know it's best that he just remain sleeping while you drive. Headed to Lake Placid , NY we arrived into town at about midnight. Though it was dark I was amazed at what I could see. I had never saw a bobsled or luge(sp?) track, or freestyle and distance ski jumps. I was amazed at the sight of them and I tried to wake my buddy, but these things didn't interest him. I wished that I could stay a couple of days to check things out but this was only a one day destination. I checked into the Econolodge at 12:30am.
Day 2 - Wednesday
9am, we go to Whiteface to ski and ride the tallest top-to-bottom vertical in the east, but NOPE!!! Due to thin cover or icey conditions (I didn't get a consistant explaination), the upper mountain was closed leaving only about 2100' of vert open. The conditions were still great despite the scattered drizzle. There was some kind of temperature inversion going on because the temp at the top was 20degrees warmer than at the bottom. There was no park or pipe open, so after a while I got a little bored boarding and switched to the planks at 1pm.
After Whiteface, my buddy and I got back on I-87 and headed north into Canada. Suprisingly I wasn't asked any silly/stupid questions at the border like 2 years ago. We stopped in Montreal looking for a place to party and ended up on St. Catherine and University (I think). We walked much of St. Catherine and couldn't find much happening. Steve had heard from someone in Baltimore that the strip clubs in Montreal are "off the hook" so naturally we had to check it out plus when all else is dead, you can't loose where there are naked girls! One problem though...how do you tip a stripper in Canada? Those $1 and $2 coins would just fall right outta their stringy and I'm on a limited-budget ski trip so I ain't tipping $5! I ended up talking to some porn star (Mya Love) for a while, then Steve and I rolled out at midnight, headed for Tremblant.
Day 3 - Thursday
Much like Whiteface, Tremblant closed ALL of there diamonds and double diamonds due to icey conditions. It wasn't until noon that they opened some expert terrain on versant nord so I hung out there for a while after that. I still had a lot of fun riding on the intermediates for most of the day and the conditions were great. Steve and I headed out of Tremblant at 6pm. Again, no obnoxious questions at the border and we were at the Killington Village Inn by 11pm.
Day 4 - Friday
SNOW!!! You've all heard about the conditions so I'll skip that. I cruised by the meeting spot at KBL at 10am and didn't see anyone there so I kept on cruising and had a great day riding! I'm sure I saw Red Rider from one of the chairs (this guy looked just like the picture). I didn't know what time was best to catch K-zoners at the Grist so I decided to show up at 8pm to have my first and get Goombay Smashed! Though I had never met any K-zoners, I knew what some looked like based on posted pictures and discriptions, so I kept an eye out as I drank a Goombay. After the 2nd Goombay I saw someone that looked familiar. IT WAS SHORTSKI!!! I recognized him from his picture so I walked over to introduced myself and he introduced me to HeyJude. Shortly after, Steve and I went to the Pickle. No wonder they call that joint the Pickle Barrel, there was nothing but dudes in there! Yeah, I got a few looks from the ladies but when you have that many pickles in the barrel, chicks get confused and then distracted by the idiotically persistant meatheads, so I didn't sweat it. Oh yeah, and Goombays came back to kick my ass at 3am.
Day 5 - Saturday
I made it to the K1 at 9am feeling great! So what I was trashed 8 hours ago

Day 6 - Sunday
At the 10am I met MrsG, Ty, Phantom and junior. I decided to ski that day, but maybe that was a mistake, as for when the group headed down Double Dipper, I demonstrated how I am not a skier by skidding, bouncing, tumbling, and throwing myself down much of DD. The group quickly fell apart and junior, Steve and I cruised for a couple of hours (thanks for hanging out junior!). Later I hit the park at Bear with the skis and took some big jumps to show off (Steve can't land 180s but I can!)
I must have F-ed my toes up in the park because later that day while riding up the K-1 my body warmed up and I felt terrible pain in my toes. I skied to KBL veeerrrry slowwwly while in agonizing pain. I bumped into SkiDork at KBL and tried to smile. I had to take off my boots to inspect the damage. My toes were all green and purple

Another well-worth-it 1300 miles on the odometer! It was a great trip and it was nice meeting some of you!
