Old Killington pictures

A while back, there was a post with pics of killington prior to the trails being widened, new trails cut, and trees cleared out. I can't find the post. Does anyone know where it is?

I should have headed up last night since I too have Monday off this year. God only knows why, but for some reason the COMPANY became politically correct all of a sudden. But, it was a great week in Maine.

It's '87 or earlier, looked just like that my first year, but I don't see the
net on old cascade, so it's probably earlier.
It was perfect, notice those old growth big pines widely spaced on Double Dipper before the cut..... that ridge of snow on skier's left along Cascade, halfway up the trees for the long haul into June.
I wish I could find a picture of Skye Peak around this time before Superstar was widened, it too was perfect, right into the fall line, just
needed snowmaking, but no, they had to cut Queens Blvd right into the side of the mountain.

Wow, a search function. I would have never thought of that. Technology has really come a long way. What next, someone will create a simple search engine that indexes the internet? Maybe they will create a function that checks spelling, as well.

Hopefully we'll get some more picture contibutions to this post.
Maybe by looking back at some of the horrible mistakes of the past
it may prevent more of the same in the future, ie. village?

You might be right about the net, or it wasn't as far across because
I can distinctly remember watching in awe as folks were flying off the Cathedral jump one after another.

Here's an oldie of K in Spring. No idea what year, but I would guess older than the picture that buzzy posted. My guess on that pic is 1983

This picture was taken around 1968:
1) Summit lodge was built '68-69; Gondola was completed late 1968 for 1969 ski season. No Gondola towers appear to be seen just below summit lodge opening.
2) Glades triple chair was built '70; not present in this picture
3) Rime and East Glade trails appear not present. Weren't they cut in 1969, in preparation for Glades triple and snowmaking system (1971).

The plan was to keep Killington open until Memorial Day by having spring skiing on Rime, Goat Path and Upper Cascade (down to the K-chair midstation).
