Bull. No where was it said the liquor license is at risk.
Something doesn't smell right about this official response either. Last I checked, it was legal to have a beer in the woods. Since K is developed in a national forest, who has the say over whether you can bring beer onto a slope with you? Maybe Bear is not part of that land.
Es war sehr schoen.
Over ten years... not including RSN or K-Chat. Way too much time wasted.
Smell you later.
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
Hmmmm... A conspiracy is at hand! Maybe you should check with the Liquor Control Board? Or maybe theorizing is more fun?
Oh, and it is a state forest, not a national forest.

Just another annual event at Killington we can say goodbye to. Never MORE shall the tents be set and parties carry on.
Let's see,
Last to Close in the East (or longest season)
June 1st SL
Memorial Day Tri
May Day Fun SL
BMMC fun ends the event
OH, no BMMC, what happens to the event the following week that nobody attended?
May as well close down on April 1st.

The new Overlords really haven't seemed to make friends with anyone, why would the Liquor Control Board be any different?
But I'd really guess that they think they can make a hefty profit, too bad no-one will show up.
Here's the real question...is it the VT DLC cracking down or is it Killington just using the DLC as a convenient excuse? Remember, they started off last year banning alcohol and then relented. This year they're banning BYOB and blaming it on the DLC. Credibility problem?

You can checkout any time you like,
but you can never leave

Need to check state and national lines in the area. Many areas are boundairies or both, or as the sign says on the Access Road,
"now entering the Green Mountain NATIONAL Forest".
Bear lodge I believe is PRIVATE property. Liquor laws in VT should be checked to verify the possilbe LIES. Not that POWDR would do such a thing.
I am so bummed... all i have been doing since the last BMMC, is telling people how much fun it is and how they have to come this year... i had so many heads lines up.... now i am afraid to bring them due to the lameness involved this year... this really is the pit... was i even makin chili this year we need to do something...

other than posting the no BYOB policy on their website, K better get the word out. "no alcoholic beverages allowed in the pkg lots". can you imagine all the folks driving up with kegs and cases, unaware of the new policy, only to be turned away? i smell blood.
K will do ANYTHING to improve their short-term bottom line. IMO, this action will kill the event, that for me and many of my K ski buddies, epitomized more than anything the best that K had to offer. how the hell can you mess with this event??? another marketing ploy aimed at cleaning up the resort to appeal to the upper crust.
my son was going to compete, maybe we will blow it off.
OK, got to start a boycott. Since businesses on the Access road are suffering, I say everyone boycott this event and take their parties to establashments on the access road. Finn should organize
