reading comprehension isn't one of skippy's strong points, making quick opinions with limited research, driving around aimlessly and shutterbugging is..
You forgot the Dungeons and Dragons!
Just put him on ignore until next November when he starts putting up meaningful photos. It's pointless trying to engage him in a meaningful debate.
True, true. I will admit though that from time to time the fantasy world that he lives in does give me a good chuckle.
Could you imagine his spin if for some reason K gets denied the permits for the Skye Peak high Speed and it won't be ready for next season. I'd likely have to strap myself into my chair before reading those responses!
I will definitely be interested in Mt. Snow Sunday report!
My impression from when I last skied Mt. Snow regularly (in the 80'a) was that I was bored with it -- but I'm really to give it another shot and would consider spending money that I would have used for a season pass at K to ski there early and late season and save K for when it's fully functional (late January throughFebruary? Was really bummed that so much of Bear was inaccessable during my week vacation in March and that so many lifts were so frequently closd so much of the rest of time).
Over-grooming this season at K also reduces advantage of K over other mountains.
Save about an hour on travel time and it sounds like they more dedicated to good customer experience for the entire typical East Coast season
(Also, Narcs and rent-a-cops on the Gondi? Feh. I get my fill of Big Brother down here in the flatlands -- don't need to run into him in the mountains-- especially on state or national park land).

They're funnier if you use the nitrous oxide while strapped in that chair.

Killington didn't claim a dollar of its maintenance as capital. Not one.
The only reason we know about it is because of this site.
That's a load of crap. Last year, they even claimed routine maintenance to the Grand Summit as part of their great spending on "improvements". That's complete sh*t since the quartershare owners fund that complex and pay Killington, the owner of the common areas, a huge pile of money for the use every year. Routine repairs like fixing the snowmaking system are essential to keeping the resort going and were the correct place to spend money last summer after the ASC malaise years where they did nothing to the mountain. Some plain speaking last year would have been better than the transparent B.S. spin they put on it.
As I've been saying... other than the early closing which, in my mind, is unforgivable, I'm pretty happy with how they ran things this year. There were a few times their austerity budget was a little annoying with slow de-icing and lifts closed when they should have been open but the place was just fine on midwinter weekends. Their communication is horrible. They acted like a bull in a china shop for the last year. Their marketing, the feeble amount they did, was awful. If Chris Nyberg can't communicate with the public, they need to hire somebody who can.
They point out that $2 M of the $5.3 M was at the K Grand, done by their owners, for upgrades...
"$2 million in owner upgrades to the Killington Grand Resort Hotel and Spa"
In addition to the $3.3 M in upgrades, improvements, they also spent around $2 M in maintenance. I dont care to look that up on here, but I believe it was Tom who posted that, and that resorts dont usually talk about this number, but it was much larher then the past... They only talked about that number here, not in the press releases, articles and so on.

Nothing on Mount Snows website yet on their plans for the summer, nothing I can find anyway. . .

"To our valued passholders,
Here's a heads up on news that will be released to the media on Monday. We wanted you to know first!"
Enough said, they just simply want their core customers to know the exact details before everyone else. Most of this was already told to passholders too at their passholders meeting back in mid-March. They just finalized the details.
I'm sure I'll also be able to thank multiple members of Mount Snow's administration for this when I'm skiing this weekend as they're readily visible around the base area just about every single day.
And what I said remains true. There is nothing on their site yet.

I seem to remember the 2 Million in maintenance on the Grand was unbundled from the 5.3 number only after it was pointed out to them that this was not spending on their part, it was reimbursed.

They said this when passes first went on sale:
"This summer $3 million is being invested to improve the on-mountain experience, including snowmaking pipe replacement, additional low-energy snowmaking equipment, base lodge upgrades and many behind the scenes maintenance projects"

It was a later release, that I am not going to take the time to research. Proving you wrong accomplishes nothing, as we have already seen.

I am looking through everything I have, I dont seem to have anything else relating to this.

I skied there twice early and after sunday i'll have 2 spring days. Early they had chute open on the north face, top to bottom, with bumps on november 12th. In my opinion, it beat the standard downdraft headwall, upper east fall/reason/rhyme mouse trap combo that killington essentially offers. Chute is a straight shot with good pitch.
Late season hardly matters to me what area. Just give me one good bump run and thats all that counts. Superstar, freefall, steins. In the end, does it matter what resort name is on your ticket?
I think you'd be pleasantly surprised if you gave your early and late season business to them. Especially with the price of gas factoring in.

Why the hell would there be anything on the website when the email clearly states that it won't be there until Monday? Why would you even look if it says it isn't there?
You're not a good example of the Vermont K-12 education system.
we love mt snow, and usually go there 2-3X/ season
I've always liked the vibe at Mt Snow, they do a great job w/ keeping things upbeat...they seem to have a sense of humor, something K could definetly embrace
however, this year we went there mid-week after a weekend at Pico. My daughter having just discovered the thrill of working Upper Pike and Upper Giant killer in really good conditions, the contrast in terrain between K/Pico vs Mt SNow was pretty stark...
