LOOKING FOR A 2008-2009 HOUSE TO RENT
LOOKING FOR A 2008-2009 HOUSE TO RENT
We are a nice couple who both work/live in the killington area and are looking for a house to rent for the 2008-2009 season or longer, that is pet friendly and prefrebly has a washer and dryer. We appreciate hearing from anyone with advice where to look or any one with property to rent. Look forward to your replies.

A WHOLE HOUSE? How many people? Children? Facilities?
Remember this: close to the mountain is $$$; farther away, you'll save. How far do you want to drive in the morning/afternoon? Ski on/ski off is limited (Sunrise). Ask around; some condo properties are well-built; others are poorly built. Some properties have a teeny-tiny pool; others list "jacuzzi" (could be a tub with two bullet jets therefore a joke).
Avoid: steep and or long driveways, unpaved roads/parking lots, electric heat, lots of high ceilings. Unpaved road/lot = mud in spring and some are barely passable. Lots of decks? Who gets to shovel em? Off the beaten path (to save money)-when is the road plowed? You'll also have to arrange for your own plowing, trash etc. And finally: what's the shape of the septic system? Some folks I know rented a house: septic system backed up, stove vent never closed (cold draft in kitchen) upstairs bedrooms had old windows that leaked, were cold. Their heating bill hit the moon. The rent was reasonable, but they had additional expenses that made their "dumpy" house VERY costly.
If you're choosing a condo: Some condos are noisy (some Killington managed properties). Pico's got some nice convenient properties. "Views?" Well, during the winter, sun sets at 4:30!
Whatever you do, do it carefully, do your homework and good luck!

Electric heat is the cheapest these days...times have changed.

Re: LOOKING FOR A 2008-2009 HOUSE TO RENT
Are you willing to have roomates? I have a house that is right off the Killington access road. The house has three bedrooms and I usually rent rooms in the winter, but I am looking for people year round. House has dishwasher/washer/dryer, 42" plasma tv, 6 person hot tub and has a garage for storage. We have trash service and snow plowing when it snows enough. Let me know what exactly you are looking for.
Thanks
