I think he's referring to the Pass Holder Newsletter which, by the way, I've never received.

Skippy, Skippy, Skippy maybe you should have gone to summer school.

First sentence in thread:

"I was out up on the access road yesterday and ran into a local business owner who is very active in promoting the area. We were talking about several things when the subject of the 50th anniversary of Killington came up. He told me that the discussions have been started and that they will be looking for input and suggestions for events and promotions to celebrate the occasion."

This has nothing to do with KSRP unless they want to get involved. This is an initiative of the Economic Development Committee and the Killington Chamber of commerce, life goes on even if Powdr and you the "Demon Spawn" thinks that the town is helpless without the participation Of KSRP.

I will give you that , for now, the town needs the co-operation of KSRP to hold events because of a lack of real estate to hold events, but that is being looked at by the Town.

If you look to the events page of the Killington site you will see the wine festival for this weekend, notice the telephone number for more info, the Killington Chamber of Commerce, not KSRP. The town and the Chamber of Commerce is not waiting for KSRP to get on the band wagon, as a matter of fact the wagon is leaving, and by the time Powdr realizes that they need a seat it will be too late.
Almost... :?
Other than the businesses giving discounts and free lift tickets, I can't see what the town can do without the resort involved? Even if they wanted to have a concert with a well known band or 2, where would they have it? Also, people aren't gonna drive back down the access road to see the concert and return to ski, they want to stay at the resort and party like the BMMC's of OLD. Did that business owner say anything about the town trying to put together something with KSRP or vice versa?

I didn't realize it was Killington's 50th too! Sugarbush opened for business on December 25, 1958 and the original lift ticket was $5.50. We too are going to have a celebration the weekend of December 12th. This is actually great that two Vermont resorts with a rich history are celebrating 50 years. What we need is for more people to come to Vermont and understand the great skiing and riding that we have in this State. In a time of high energy costs and terrible airline service, we should focus on getting more to try both Killington and Sugarbush. I wonder if Press is a long lost cousin?

Free skiing one day..like K used to do on Friday's in May in the 70's.
K a place that used to cater to skiiers, now a place that caters to the Powdr corporation skiing. ( The bottom line making money first...the product was snow now it's money)

K was Eastern skiing at it's finest. Ski early in October then ski to June. Now a joke we are just like all the rest.
Rock on Sugarbush and Jay Peak.

My old home resort celebrated their 50th anniversary last winter, and on their opening day, they offered lift tickets at a deep discount.

Essentially, it was day tickets sold for the first hour of the first day were sold at the price of a lift ticket in 1957 when the resort first opened for business.

Something along those lines would be an awesome promotional tool.

Well, so much for that idea. K-Marketing automatically disqualifies the use of "awesome promotional tools".

Anybody got any "mediocre, forgettable promotional tools" to suggest? Those might fly.
