I've had a season pass at K for 6 years and have only had one goombay.......Slopes, you aren't missing much.

Now if you've been skiing K for a while and have never had a Long Trail........ That's another story.

Long Trail is the best (blackberry wheat and the IPA are my favorites). I need to get some of this triple boch/bag, sounds awesome.

I did not know you jumped back on the horse. Kudos. You may now rightfully claim a shirt. (Still that first time was sad.)

Yes the first time was sad (and I thank Mrs. G, Snowsprite and shecanski for helping me out). The more I think about, the shirt should go go G-Smashed (unless he has one already).

I don't know if the Goombay Smash pre-dates my arrival in Killington during the winter of '80-81, but certainly one of the popularizers of the GS was the Orient Express, built by Jeff Gherish and his partners at the time (who also jointly owned the Back Behind). The Orient Express was a (rather lousy, thank you) Chinese restaurant. After several years it was converted into Casey's Caboose and became much more successful.

Pablo was the head bartender at the Orient Express and the Goombay Smash was its signature drink. Many were consumed there whilst waiting for the (painfully slow) kitchen to deliver your grub.

I know of what I speak. After I'd come down from hauling sleds I used to cook there.

The drink did seem to follow Pablo to whichever gin mill he was working that year.
