Beer prices on access road
Heard a rumor that all the bars on the access road are raising the price of beer because of fears of less skier visits this year.
Anyone else hear this? Cost of a budweiser at the wobbly barn is now $4.50
Do any bars have discount beer nights midweek? Or are they going to rob us all the time?
Why don't any of the bars have good BUFFALO wings for happy hour?

Because they give them away?thorski wrote: Why don't any of the bars have good BUFFALO wings for happy hour?
Only place I've been to that had deep fried wings with real buffalo sauce at happy hour was the Pickle. Good but not anything I would call really good or great.
I like the wings at Casey's if you catch them early on around 3-4 pm. Deep fried, tossed in sauce, then baked. Not buffalo style, but tasty when they are fresh. After that and its a crapshoot - sometimes inedible from being dried out from reheating too many times and/or made way too spicy towards the end of HH.
Lookout is ok if you dig the bbq/jerk sauce - always a consistent meh to me.
Beer prices have gone up everywhere this summer . I used to pay $4.50 - $5 for a pint of good west coast ipa like Racer 5 last year in Boston, now going for $6- $7.
Bud and the rest of the macros have held the line somewhat because of their scale, but malt and hop shortages have effected microbrews much more. Price of malt for the little guys has almost doubled, hops almost the same - many brewpubs and small breweries can't even get the varieties they need anymore and have to switch up recipes and/or scale back on hop usage.

Which places did you verify weren't doing any longer? I heard Casey's was thinking of axing them.

Except no word on sushi.
Wouldn't bother me, i'd rather pay for some good buffalo wings swimming in sauce.

HAHAHAH racer 5 that's my local home town brew. I get sh*t-FACED at the bear republic on the weekly. It's literally right down the road from my place. They usually have 10+ micro and seasonal brews. I only know about half the staff
The last pitcher ordered is always Racer 5 every week we go.
Also worked the farmers market in their parking lot this morning.
and Lagunitas is just down 101

It's going to be the "Twilight Bistro". New owner (well, tenant). The guy use to work down at Hemminways, so I expect the food will improve. Very enthusiastic. He was trying to open by Thanksgiving, but I think problems with permitting slowed everything down. Lot of work going on redoing the place. Paint, new carpets, etc.MrsG wrote:Hey Rogman (or any locals) - is anything going into where Skybox used to be . . . they use to have a decent priced beer
