I had three pairs of Lange boots that fit me fine. However, my feet changed and the last pair (4th one) did not fit as well. I had to switch brands because my feet got too wide. Otherwise, I would still be in Lange boots. Maybe your foot is too wide?

Different boot manufacturers use slightly different lasts to model their boots' foot shape. Lange tends to fit "lower volume" feet perhaps better than Rossignol boots. There's no such thing as a brand that doesn't fit. It 's just that some brands are likely NOT to fit your feet, whereas another brand might fit well. Of course, if you've got oddly shaped feet, or hammer toes, or some ridiculously high arch/instep, you're going to have a tough time finding a great fit.

Just try on different boots, and always, always buy from a shop you like, that's reputable, and that will custom fit you. The single most important thing in skiing is probably the boot. It is unquestionably the most "intimate" fitting piece of equipment you will ski with. Don't be cheap when it comes to your boots. If you spend 30 minutes in the shop getting fitted and then make your decision, you're either incredibly lucky or stupid. You just might discover after 30 minutes of skiing that your quick shop decision is going to cause you more pain than you ever bargained for.

Take your time. Good shops understand.

I guess so.
I ski salomon SPK boots now and everything has been fine. No shin bang, I can ski them all day and they dont hurt, They are easier to get on and off, And the cushion under the heel is nice.

This is somewhat True. Either you have a Lange foot or you dont. I think he last time I didn't ski in a lange boot was when i was in about 7th grade.

As a matter of fact I have an oppointment tomorrow afternoon with my bootfitter to get full cork footbeds in a new pair of crazy blues that I bought as a leftover last spring. Maybe I'll write a TR about it....

I skied Lange from 1978 through 2000. I always had problems blowing through the liners after 60 or 70 days. Lange used to be pretty good about replacing them under warranty or selling replacements at a fair price so I could get two or three seasons out of shells swapping in new liners halfway through. They changed their policy. They started calling trashed liners in the first year 'normal wear and tear'. Replacement liners got really expensive to the point where it was cheaper to buy new boots on sale than replace the liners. I swapped over to Head World Cup and the Head/San Marco silicon injection liners. A great system that holds up longer than the shell since silicon doesn't compress with use. Sadly, Head discontinued that liner.

I have been on Lange boots since 2002 and have had no complaints so far.

Although I do have start wearing them about a week before my first day on the snow... Also I can't let them get cold before I put them on or they will not strap on.

I have no complaints with my Langes. Of course when I got them I also went through several hours of custom fitting at Green Mountain Orthotics (located at Stratton) because I have flat feet. The custom footbed has helped me more than I had ever imagined, before that any boot I put on was very uncomfortable and I would come off the mountain with black and blue ankles. I will admit they are a little tough getting on and off though...

I LOVE my Langes!!!
But you have to have em fit professionally and you have to have a "Lange type" foot.
I have two pairs;

try spending a quater in one of the boot glove heaters in the lodge before booting up .I have found it well worth the walk inside in the morning

Getting 'em on isn't a problem unless you pull the geek, herb, touron trick and leave them in the car overnight.

Getting them off on a subzero day can take two beers in the base lodge before they soften enough to get your foot out. My Head World Cups are the same way.
