OT:Layed off in the Legal Field-Question if You're in Legal

Post by Skibumtress »

PM me if you are. Question for those who be.
No, I'm not asking you for a job - but if you want to hire me as a paralegal - that would be nice. :D
Seriously -- networking like crazy and have a question or two.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear you got laid off, search Craigs list there are a bunch of lawyers that advertise on there and they might be looking for help. It will probably be per diem but hey its money.

You got laid off already? Didn't you just start that job?

Btw, you aren't alone, I got laid off from AIG on Tuesday morning after almost 16 years. I'll be spending most of the winter up north

It was a temp-to-perm job. The paralegal who was on LOA came back and at the beginning she was going to quit -- can't blame her for coming back. I too was at my previous employer for 17 years and then quit to work closer to home -- yet another huge layoff. Two layoffs in two years. :?

Sorry about your situation too.

I've had thoughts of working at K for the winter..... but then again, where would I live? Hey I can live in my Jeep, however my dog will not like that.

Sorry to hear that.
Welcome to the club, but I wish you weren't a member.

I have 4 1/2 days left to work.
Usually, there would be a "this year" on the previous statement.
I plan to get a lot of ski days in this season

You might make more on unemployment than working for Killington! To bad you did not get a pass this season, saw 2 for sale in the mountain times today. Now is the chance to become a ski bum!
Could start a midweek meet and great for the unemployed at Killington at 10AM

Should also start a list of who has been separated from the payroll lately! I am self employed, work has slowed down lately, but winter is my usual slow period anyhow. So not unemployed yet.
