powdr's been incredibly lucky w/snowfall their first 2 seasons. according to bestsnow.net, at 133", killington has received 200% of their normal snowfall so far which is the most in the east. asc on the other hand couldn't buy a flake their last few seasons.

Also notable is the fact that K has received over 50% of their annual average of 250"
not talking about current snow pack ,just the fact that k has received more than a lot of resorts, copper mountain 119",Breckenridge 103",North star at Tahoe 119",Stowe 120"....
for eastern resorts, the total snowfall number is a stat that is very much overrated when it is used to slant to the positive side....of course it is better to have snow fall than not have snow fall...but as was pointed out, it matters much more what happens after it....the resort will use that number and spin the percentage of total seasonal snow received already to market conditions as being equal to the percentage received....it just isnt accurate or honest....don't mean to r*in on your parade but the facts are the facts....
western resorts with much less snowfall, in all probability, have superior conditions as they tend not to get r*in after a certain point in time.....they may not have as many " skiable miles " ( another completely stupid stat ) open as K , but you can be sure the actutal surface conditions are in all probability , superior....
all im saying is don't get fooled by marketing hype that really kicks into gear when it is able to manipulate total snowfall numbers into a postitve spin , as is the case this year...
Ugh, should probably add in the r*in they get, and to be honest they have gotten a lot of r*in following a good powder days. All that snow means sh*t when it is melted/washed away. Mother Nature is a cruel and fickle bitch. I am sure places to the north are fareing much better, Sugarloaf (which probabley has gotten significantly less snow this year and but less r*in as well) and Jay Peak being the obvious ones. Granted Sugarloaf just got 29 inches of snow at the base last week and little if any r*in.
Oh and do you all really think they have gotten that much. I am just curious, I know according to a lot of people on here that Killington with it's bigger is better attitude really can inflate there snowfall numbers.

1. We all know it r*ins and there's not a lot to do about it when talking about snowfall for the season. What would you have them do? Convert snowfall totals to precipitation and report total precipitation?
2. Killington has actually gotten far more conservative ("honest") in their measurements over the past few years.

I agree with Bubba. Last weekends storm, I think they reported 35". That really was conservative. Unfortunately, not a lot of water content. Already gone, and then some... >>sigh<<.
