FZ level dropping to 2500 ft in 1 day. Most mt. bases are around 5-6,000 ft. Can you say ICE! Then clearing for a week. Yeah.

Yeah that r*in is running right through that snowpack and making it slide from underneath...slick water under the snow...EVIL..
Sorry to hear it man...
On a side note...32" already this week and another 12" expected tonight. With temps during the snowfall being in the 15-18F range it should be PIXIE DUST!
Enjoy your weekend all.

All passes are closed, it's nuts! The only way out is through Canada right now. I-5, I-90, Rt 2, all closed. A lot of towns south of Seattle are under water right now, I think they called a state of emergency. Oh, and the rivers haven't crested yet......
Luckily, I'm on a ridge at 410' above sea level. But I definitely feel for the others. They're calling for another 3-5" today, insane...

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
Re: PNW devastation right now
is this a normal occurrence? Or a once every 100 year thing?
Re: PNW devastation right now
The latter. They've never seen anything like this before.SkiDork wrote:is this a normal occurrence? Or a once every 100 year thing?
Yeah, I think 10" of r*in probably converts to about 100-120" of snow in the last 48 hours. The top of Rainier and Baker are going to be BURIED!!! Nobody is going to summit those suckers for a while!

Getting pretty bad out there http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/weather/01/0 ... topstories
I recall a similar period of floods when I lived out there around 96.

it's going. the pain flares up every now and then but for the most part, it has subsided... cast comes off next week, then PT kicks in. good times.

Re: PNW devastation right now
Do the PT exercises religiously and you will be back out skiing soon. Plus you're young so you should heal more quickly. Does the cast attract more ladies by any chance?Tricks wrote:it's going. the pain flares up every now and then but for the most part, it has subsided... cast comes off next week, then PT kicks in. good times.
