And Doc, I agree with you(correct thread or not). That mess around The new sky peak quad is one of the biggest traffic CFs I have seen. When it's crowded, the bowling alley and mixing bowl are tame compared to what they created. It's good the ski patrol sled hut is right there.

As an example, I happened across a downed skier on the new GE just after the new SkyePeak Express quad and just before the entrance to old Needles Eye. It was a knee injury, and immobile. There was the usual high traffic flow. As I was getting the skis stuck in the snow uphill so people would stay clear, two more people fell and almost slid into us. Then the ski patroller dispatched skied by below on the way to Bittersweet part of GE. I gave chase and told her where the accident was.

This pointed up two issues: Accidents are happening there, and if Patrol takes the wrong turn going out of the hut (ie not through the wind fence where its roped off) they will be downhill of much of the accident prone part of the trail, and then have to trudge uphill to get to the right place.

POWDR, KILLINGTON, please take note!

if you make the inter connect you will lose 3 very faithful customers for sure. my wife daughter and i. im sure there are many more like us.

there is no other mountain in central vermont with such a relaxed atmosphere. also there is no other trail anywhere like the summit glades. i can ski that trail all day long. please dont turn it into another mountain with no soul.

Do you really think that powder will leave pico open without the inter connect? It is not making money and we all know powder is only about the bottom line. Without the interconnect pico will be on the nelsap list within 5 years.

i would rather see it on the nelsap site that have the interconnect happen.

Pico made money last season after having lost money for years, at least according to KSRP. I have no reason to doubt those statements.

Also, I'm for the Interconnect. Let's finally finish it and make one big (connected) resort. Nothing else K will do will have as big an impact as this. I don't really care that much about the village, but if they have any hope of selling it, they will have to complete the Interconnect.
I also like how some people make Pico out to be completely empty and you have the whole place to yourself on a Saturday. Place gets packed on a Saturday most of the time also. I've run into animals and bad/out of control skiers/riders there too. Not much different than K. Sundays are better. Weekdays are always great, but so is Killington and most resorts...

I think KSRP should consider reinstating the Ramshead/Snowshed-only (including the Northbrook chair) - ticket for a reasonable price. People spending over $80 dollars for a day of skiing feel they have the right to ski anywhere, even if they are not prepared to handle situations like the top of SPQ and Skyship II. The current layout is not designed for newbies - "easier" skiing yes, but not new skiers. JMHO.

there are definately less out of controls at pico than at killington. pico is much much much different than K. though there are idiots eveywhere. ex. my wife and i were sking little pico on MLK day. we took A-slope cut off and as soon as we got to the intersect with A slope a ski went flying past us. thought there was a yard sale. nope. it was 3 idiots who didnt belong there took off there skis and one snowboard and were throwing them down the mountain. that was one of the stupidest things ive ever seen at a ski area. anyone else see that?

I actually disagree. Snowshed with a lesson for never evers for $30 is a pretty good deal.

Sorry Dork, but the $30 is the lift only. then you pay for the lesson. If you want a lesson with an all mountain ticket it gets to be more. My daughter took a day lesson package, rental, lift and lesson snowshed only for $130.
