Those 2 plus the Glade triple are probably the 3 oldest chairs on the mountain (not including the snowshed doubles) without a high speed alternative on their peak. Would be nice if that situation were addressed.
So let's see....

You want POWDR to spend boatloads of money on replacing old lifts that work fine (OK, so some overdue maintenance and upgrades would be in order on the Snowdon triple, maybe even refurbished chairs) and the payoff is so you can spend 5 less minutes on the ride up. Then we can look forward to even fewer lifts that run on windy days, longer de-ice times, and a degradation of the skiing surface from the increased traffic. Let's get rid of the poma too, which is cheap to operate and serves a favorite race training trail. And don't forget the redundancy of the 2 snowdon lifts, if one is down you have a back-up. As a pilot, I love back-ups.

Hmmmm. Save 5 minutes, or better skiing.... 5 less minutes, or better skiing. I'm thinking - better skiing.

POWDR, save your money for better things. Put cushy seat pads on the Snowdon Triple, fix the footrests, serve free hot cider at the maze, place a trash can at the top, train the lifties to load small children and novices better, (Maybe a big sign that says ask the attendant to slow the lift for you if you are inexperienced) and you have a cheap winner.
I stand corrected. Just wondering if there isn't some way to balance things a little better - no line on either Snowdon chair, out of the maze on K1. That was just yesterday when the weather was tough and the SQ was not a fun ride. But you all ski there all the time and I'd be happy with 6 - 9 days a season, so I'm sure you have a better grip on the situation.

I too agree with Mr. Moose on this one. The reason the line at the K1 was long was because of the weather. I rode the Snowdon quad about 3 times before I needed to come down and get on the K1 to warm up. Even today the Snowdon quad was a bit on the chilly side so we didn't ride it too long. If the weather is more balmy you will find that many posters here prefer to ride chairs rather than wait in line for the K1. High speed chair lifts do seem to stop a lot or be down completely when the winds pick up - Superstar quad being the perfect example of that.

But if you are riding a high speed quad, you are on the lift for much less time and thus don't get as cold between runs... I've always thought they should scrap BOTH snowdon lifts and put a high speed quad in where the current quad is. (I bet the uphill capacity of a HSQ is about the same as the combined capacity of the old triple and old double). True about the wind holds, but the line of the snowdon quad is much lower and less exposed overall than the Superstar quad, so I bet this would be less of an issue.

The K1 blows on weekends! They pack you like sardines and I have the board jammed in with me because the racks suck. I'm not a big fan of gondola's. You get off up there and there's bodies everywhere standing and sitting. Sometimes you have to walk practically to the switchback before you can get into your equipment! We got here Saturday about 2 and I did several laps on Snowdon with no lift lines. K1 was packed! I'd definitely rather take a long lift ride than wait in that K1 line and then packed inside for the ride up.

The negativity on this board is really bringing me down, man.

MM and JG, nothing I've written even comes close to what you've posted...
Of course the difference with me is that I found an alternative to the K1 in Snowdon's lift instead of writing 25 pages whining about it.
JG, do you ever post anything useful? Go back to your stupid deathstar thread...
You guys also did see the  in my post? :?
Ok, heading out to surf some powder. You guys have a nice day! I'll read the whining posts later... :P

Of course we did. You were joking. We were joking. Most people are probably smart enough to pick up on sarcasm without throwing a slew of stupid emotic-  -ns into the mix. Apparently, you are not most people.

By the way, I haven't posted in the "Death Star" thread in days. Neither has anyone else. It was a quick joke, and its time has passed... for everyone but you. Get over it!

Yes, and undoubtedly, you'll have plenty more to say as a part of your ongoing campaign to show us all how little you have to say about our whining. Golly, I just can't wait!*
