You should all buy some nice little satin jackets with logo's and nicknames embroidered on them and hang around the parking lot, give each other high fives and tell each othe how really slick you are. Really silly.......
I like the cut of that man's jib. Give him a raise!"
Hilarious. We invited the entire BMMC party back to our place, and nearly every one came. Awesome! You must have been there somewhere, aware4444, sorry we missed you...

Dr. NO wrote:How was that BBQ on the Deck going? In past years, the campers would get hungry and buy up those burgers, dogs and chicken BBQ. They also had Moguls there carving up racks of ribs. Didn't notice too many bodies jumping on them. And as shortskis pictures show, that mob scene in the Bear Mtn Lounge was just too much. Take away the party and you take away the sales. Wonder how many Bud Light swills hey sold today?
There was only one group of 'remember when' guys at the football games with their faces painted blue and orange in 20 degree weather trying so hard to be cool. Most people thought you were trying too hard.
Will you still be as glibly pro-KillingtonPowdr after you lose your job, Failure?
Any attempt you make to defend this sad mess only makes you look even more ridiculous than you already are.
And, yes... we ALL now know you're in Killington Marketing.
Failure.

Just say'in.
But to be clear, I agree with the general sentiment that the spirit of the BMMC has been sucked dry. The event use to be about the joy of spring skiing, cheering on your friends and having a great time at all the impromptu parties at the base. For many years, it was by far the coolest on-snow spring party in the Northeast and Killington was simply the place to be.
I give credit to Powdr for taking some baby steps in the right direction this season, but the BMMC felt more like an unwanted corporate obligation than a celebration of a special mountain and a truly wonderful way of life.
Parrothead today was fun, but by Maine laws, it is all inside fences and you buy all libations . . . but, that is what they are used to . . . those BMMC pics are truly the sadest thing I've seen in a ski area
The innagural "almost end of winter" brewfest at Mount Snow was a BIG success too! Sure the weather sucked outside, but shortly before 2PM, brewfest started inside Cuzzins and outside under tents on Cuzzins deck. Shortly after 3, Cuzzins inside was basically Standing room only, their was almost no free space outside under the tents, and shortly there after they expanded the roped off drinking area into the main base lodge cafeteria area and when I left around 5:30 that roped off area was almost all the way out to where the cafeteria cash registers are!
When I talked briefly with Mount Snow's marketing promotions director, Greg Fisher, as I was leaving and asked about whether or not they'll be a "2nd annual" next year, the answer 100% YES!
well, this was my 6th, and more than likely last Mogul Challenge , as a competitor and my 11th overall....and as the title of one of the greatest smiths records ever made said ... " the queen is dead " what an embarassment...Skiingsnow, you do a nice job with pics and i appreciate the fact that you play the glass is half full role... but my man, don't even try to defend the abomination that took place this past weekend... as many have said over and over... they just don't get it... or they do get it and just don't care....under no circumstances should BMMC happen prior to the 2nd weekend in april and if that falls on easter, push it back another week....and the lunacy of these resorts to run 2 mogul challenges on the same weekends....bust and burn and BMMC same weekend... give me a break....these guys have no clue
In response to my comment to Marketing prior to last year's BMMC that their decision on BYOB would kill the event, I was told "the competition is the event". Right again......

My weekend got even sadder when we found out that the people who were scheduled to have rented our condo never showed up. So we joined the crowd that did not make any revenue from this BMMC weekend.

Dude you are totally missing the point. Has nothing to do with warm sunny days or BYOB. Its about killing the vibe associated with BMMC by hiring out Gestapo rent-a-cops with give you attitude and making you feel like a criminal, not allowing ski houses to pitch tents and not letting mans best friend roam freely begging for food. The whole spirit of BMMC was KILLED by Nyberg on Saturday. May it RIP.
I can put up with you silly posts but boy are you are begining to sound like a mouth piece for Nyberg. Such a tool!

The anomaly is what makes it...
Early season skiing at K was an anomaly. Late season at K was an anomaly. BMMC was an anomaly. Killington's size and location is an anomaly.
If you aren't an anomaly, you are just like everyone else. Anomaly is the Killington brand. Without it, its just like EVERYWHERE ELSE.
