PSIA Level 1 `

Post by panelman01 »

The first few pages of "Search" for "PSIA" for this yielded some interesting
results... but not much regarding what is involved.... Anyone care to give a
quick overview of what is involved? Convenience has me doing this at a NJ
or PA hill, but I think they are all standardized programs?
Going where the wind don't blow so strange. Maybe on some high cold mountain range.

Sure I actually got my level 1 at Killington back in April of 05. It's a two day seminar consisting of on mountain and off mountain training. The examiner basically want's to see your skiing ability, people skills, and overall attitude. He or she will take you on the mountain and go through various basic beginner skiing techniques and drills to make sure you have the ability. He even had us skiing in an area blindfolded while another instructor is in front of you directing you where to go. Great for adaptive programs at resorts. If you just listen, answer questions, and know the code have a good attitude you're in.

Good Luck.
