I will admit I am not a huge Someday Bigger fan, but I am not sure somebody who's ski's K should be dissing Someday Bigger. I mean Most of Killington ski's just about the same from a vertical standpoint. It's not like Killington minus a few trails skis the vertical they claim, also I am sure Killington never lies about there snow totals.....I have been there so many times when they had to be getting there measurements from the snow off the roof of one of their lodges. Honestly, Killington often I am sure gives the snow total of whatever part of the mountain that has the most correct? If not how bout they start reporting from route 4? What 100 inches maybe? Oh and IMHO opinion I really don't find anything that difficult at Killington, or at least nothing I would be slaming another resort over.junior wrote:Not what the website said. It said 57 inches of snow. It didn't say "57 inches of snow at one spot somewhere on a distant peak." It clearly stated that Sunday River had gotten 57 inches of snow. That's why I love the place. Honesty in snow reporting at its finest. I just wish it was closer. I'd ski there way before I'd ski at K or Mad River. It's just too long a drive, but Sunday River is the mecca of east coast skiing. It actually rivals many places out west as well in terms of natural snowfall, vertical, and difficulty of terrain. I'd take Sunday River over Jackson, Snowbird, and Telluride 8 days a week. Nothing compares to the mighty Sunday River. Nothing!!Big Bob wrote:The 57" that fell was at the top of Jordan Peak. Lower elevations got much less since it mixed with r*in. Sugarloaf was the place to be.
Yes, Killington has much better glades due to more snow, can't disagree there and I am sure the backcountry is much better then anything Sunday River has to offer.
