Cogito, ergo sum

Sometimes it is that simple.

Yahh well one of the boys on My team had this as an away message I figured I would post it since you brought that up

Bud Light presents: Real Men of Genius. Today, we salute you, Mr. Milton Academy hockey player. Not only do you skate with the grace of Brian Boitano, but you break the social paradigms of not fu!king little girls. While the rest of your team was satisfied with a post game chew, you proudly received felatio with four of your best boys. Some weaker men might have thought "this is wrong", but not you, you persevered in the face of morality and stood up to the statutory rape laws. As her head bobbed you beamed with pride as you reached for and realized the loftiest goals. So: here's to you Mr. Milton Academy hockey player, because if not for guys like you fathers wouldn't carry shotguns.

I used to play in the New Haven Pee Wee leagues, back when it was the New Haven Arena, and the Blades were still there. 2 years on West Haven High School team which was always in the top 5 for states. But I stunk so in my senior year, I got fed up with it and quit.

Hockey Nut

Post by TheRat »

Played 4 years at a D-1 Ivy League school and coached high school for many years. Still lace them up with some of my former players in an over 30 league. Saved some money this year not buying the Directv NHL package, but still get many college games on weekends on the dish. A good pond hockey game on black ice on a sunny, mid-20s day may rival skiing the woods in a foot of fresh.

I was playing about a year ago. I learned when I was about 26. I joined an adult learn to play clinic. I did that for two rounds (12 weeks each) and then played a few seasons in C and B leagues.

It was a lot of fun. I stopped playing when I went back to school but plan to get back to it when I am done school in Oct.

I was in a rollerhockey league until last year. I know, it's not the same, but damn if it isnt fun. and it's alot cheaper than the mens leagues around here, and there isnt the insane ice time situations. saturday at midnight, sunday at 5:00 a.m. etc etc.

We used to get some pretty decent ice times. Usually Tuesdays and Fridays between 7:00 and 11:00.

Ahh the rush of scoring goals...

Places to skate outside?

Post by TheRat »

We're always looking for some good outdoor ice in our travels in ski country. Do any of you know of any places? A couple we've sampled are an outdoor rink in Newport, VT and the rink alongside I-93 in Franconia just past Cannon. Two of the best ever were an outdoor rink on Lake Louise right behand the Chateau Lake Louise and three cleared areas behind the Banff Springs Hotel that are lighted at night.

Yes, I play hockey in a men's league here in northern NJ. I play on the fire department hockey team (Morris Metro Fire Hockey team) which is made up of career and volunteer firefighters from the Morristown area of NJ who love the game of hockey and love playing it. We just started our 3rd year and we go back and forth between the "C" and "D" Divisions each season at Twin Oaks Ice Rink in Morristown, NJ. My K-Zone name is in tribute to Herb Brooks -- I hope I like hockey.
