It looks like a Pyroclastic Flow from a volcano came through there! Can't believe that house and the people in it didn't get destroyed! There was a bridge there when we left Monday and a lot of equipment working around there.finn wrote:Heard there is a temporary bridge on Mendon lark or lake drive onto rte. 4...just before sugar and Spice on the right. The white house on that road was an island until the bridge was put here.
Someone told me at the Mendon Gap the hole looks like the grand canyon.
I've been through Mendon on Rt 4 three times since they have opened it and I am still just amazed at the landscape and terraforming that occured and how relatively fast they got Rt4 up and running. That mile and a half on the northside of Rt 4 is so desolate where it had previously been a small brook and greenery up to Rt 4--now it's just a rocky wasteland for 100 yards with cliffs looming 60 feet high. Each time I ride through it you see more damage and I now call it Mendon Canyon.RENO wrote:It looks like a Pyroclastic Flow from a volcano came through there! PLEASE adhere to the speed limits! Still working with a crew helping putting the sewer line back together, plus it is a double fine and they are out there everyday. Drive safe and let the crews get the work done safely.chewbacca wrote:I've been through Mendon on Rt 4 three times since they have opened it and I am still just amazed at the landscape and terraforming that occured and how relatively fast they got Rt4 up and running. Be careful. Drive at 30MPH, that Mendon Constable Tiff is hiding and lurking to get speeders. Speeding in that construction zone is DOUBLE Dollars.
