Drove Route 4 in Mendon for the first time this past weekend and all I can say is as bad as the videos and pics looked, the magnatude of the disaster is 10 times more incredible in person! Just jaw dropping as we drove through there. I just can't believe they got that road open in such a short time for regular traffic?! Those guys did an absolutely AWESOME job!!!!! :Toast :like

Heard there is a temporary bridge on Mendon lark or lake drive onto rte. 4...just before sugar and Spice on the right. The white house on that road was an island until the bridge was put here.

Someone told me at the Mendon Gap the hole looks like the grand canyon.

It looks like a Pyroclastic Flow from a volcano came through there! Can't believe that house and the people in it didn't get destroyed! There was a bridge there when we left Monday and a lot of equipment working around there.

I've been through Mendon on Rt 4 three times since they have opened it and I am still just amazed at the landscape and terraforming that occured and how relatively fast they got Rt4 up and running. That mile and a half on the northside of Rt 4 is so desolate where it had previously been a small brook and greenery up to Rt 4--now it's just a rocky wasteland for 100 yards with cliffs looming 60 feet high. Each time I ride through it you see more damage and I now call it Mendon Canyon.

Be careful. Drive at 30MPH, that Mendon Constable Tiff is hiding and lurking to get speeders. Speeding in that construction zone is DOUBLE Dollars.

PLEASE adhere to the speed limits! Still working with a crew helping putting the sewer line back together, plus it is a double fine and they are out there everyday. Drive safe and let the crews get the work done safely.

Never saw any posts on this so, Rt. 7 in N. Clarendon is completely fixed. Apparently the damage was due to the Cold River going AROUND the bridges and washing out the roadway. All four lanes fully open now. Unbelievable that things get done so fast in emergencies but it takes months and even years to do the same things at a normal pace.

P.S. I-91 in Brattleboro looks to be behind schedule so it looks like it will remain one lane for quite some time. One bridge has Iron on it but no concrete poured yet. The 2nd bridge has no Iron on it yet and that could take a few weeks. Friday and Sunday drives on 91 could be a real blast.
