I thought polyester made good base layers, not wet snow. Never tried one, but a wet snow base layer sounds too cold to keep me warm.
Do jeans keep you warm? I used to ski in jeans when I was just a wee little junior. Junior jr if you will.
did you also have Nordica Banana boots? And Jet Stix?
Salomon rear entry boots. Loves those things. Had 4 pairs of them. Not the best support, but comfortable as a pair of sneakers.

Don't know what jet stix are? Goal posts in the Meadowlands?

I'll answer my own question:

"The Jet-Stick, a timely accessory:
For the 1970-1971 ski season, Jack Nagel, from Enumclaw, Washington (father of ski racer Judy Nagel) offered a new ski boot accessory developed to assist in executing “avalement,” the latest of modern ski techniques. It also helped complement the low cuff of the current Lange boot design before the company would offer its own after-market "Lange Spoiler." The device consisted of a fiberglass "gutter" shaped to fit the lower calf and strapped under the top buckle. Billed as “great for powder snow, (sit back and let 'em go) tremendous on packed, moguled slopes for taking up the bumps in skiing ‘low and loose’," the Jet-Stix was designed for most levels of skier, all the way to the competitor. It offered support to the back of the leg without restricting forward movement. An introductory “Pro-Form” offer made before October lst, 1970 priced one pair of Jet-Stix for just $6.00. After that date, the price jumped to $7.00… "

NOT "WET GLUE" at all it was a pow day! You flatlanders can try to console yourselves by playing it down but it was in fact a full on powder day.

That''s my car at about 7:30 am at about 200 feet elevation above the Pickle Barrel. It kept snowing for another six or so hours after that. So, it ended up being about 13 inches or more. Never r*ined while I was on the slopes until about 1 pm.

Seems everybody has their own definition of a full-on POW experience. I call it full-on pow when skiing in as little as 4 inches of it results in a coating of snow all over my pants above my knees. This stuff skied really nice and fast, and packed under the skis, but it did not get kicked up by my fatty's tips. The wonderful stuff we had this morning was not light and fluffy, but rather dense and it had a lot of cohesion. When it was removed from my car it came off in chunks like cake and not like light fluff. It was not wet, but by my defintion it was not exactly full-on POW.

On most of the open trails they had groomed down the fresh snow sometime in the night before an additional 4 or 5 inches fell. So it was a nice base of packed dense "powder" with the dense "powder" on top.

In any care it was the best of the seven days I have skied this season and a great break for NE skiers. The chance to ski T2B was a real Thanksgiving treat.

Happy Thanksgiving!

All true.
This snow was the perfect consistency for first layer base. Not wet. Not heavy, but it had some substance and density to it.
Ridge Run was excellent. Soft consistent bumps. Zero ice. Power Line same except for the water bar. Mouse Trap was awesome in the morning but a lot of manmade mixed in by afternoon.
Poaching was rampant on Cascade, Flume, Highline, middle Royal Flush, even Conclusion.
