WOW, got to love making big sweeping negative statements about people you don't know at all. Do you make comments like that to people say, when riding the Gondola with strangers? I think the reaction would be quite different when not hiding behind the internet....

Its a way to say f-you to people without actually having to do it. Kind of passive aggressive. You sound like the guy who goes 65 in the fast lane because that the speed limit and even though you could move over for faster traffic behind you you wont because its your road and thats the speed limit!

Some people are either clueless or thrive on behavior that almost crosses the line to provoke a response but does not. Some people will react to the parent who beings their screaming kid to the movies or a fine restaurant but most will just try to bear it. I once got into a gondola that had a guy in it that smelled so bad that the eyes of the other skiers eyes were darting around looking for comfort and hoping for escape and I could not stop laughing. Nobody was going to tell the guy he stunk but he should have known rather than put out a big F-U to the people who have to deal with him. Fortunately it was so bad I though it was funny and the other skiers and I got to communicate without words.

r*ined on and off most of the day but not hard. Was very doable with a couple of gondola rides. What snow there is skied nicely but it is getting very thin in places. BB is hurting. Pray for cold and snow. Friday will be dust on crust!!!

Don't like waiting for kids? Ski lifts that only serve expert terrain.

You sound like the selfish troop of guys with their little future skiers asking the lift operator to slow down for them on every run. You get 10 of these self centered jerks on the snowdon quad and its slowing down constantly but hey they have a right to do it because they paid their money and its their precious future skiers and important self ego projection. Thank goodness for slow loading high speed lifts limit this problem.
You forgot to take a shot at our kids by calling them condescending brats. I expect better from you next time. Thank you.
I saw you kids last weekend. they haven't been in the program long enough to become "Condescending Brats". Give 'em time and they will fit right in.

Moguls on Skyline will be fine. Race training will be limited and in the usual areas, get over it. Like Football and Baseball, some things bring money to the area like sports bring money to colleges. I disagree with "go to another mountain" because they do the same things. Currently they don't have the terrain K has so imagine being there and "sharing" with the schools and comps.

Been there and done that. Slow the chair down for my kid. Huh? What? this is the North Face and Expert ONly terrain. Uh Oh, voicing ones opinion is not good on the chair. At the top I was rebuked for making this opinion. But, kiddie, daddy and some other so called experts followed me down said Expert terrain only to be tossed aside by moguls. Leave the kiddies that can't get on the chair in the kiddie areas please. If they can navigate the chair and handle the terrain, go for it.

SkyLine Chair that is, opens tomorrow, Saturday. Wonder who won the right to be 1st?

That is the chair they should put on Snowdon. It is fixed grip to help with icing and wind but also semi High Speed, nearly doubling the usual fixed grip speed yet about 400 feet / minute slower than a detatchable chair. They use the conveyor to load and unload due to the speed.

From SugarloafToday:

Go Time.

"BIG. NEWS.
It’s been a long process, to say the least, but after years of planning, months of construction, several weeks of tests and inspections, and several more weeks of snowmaking (and waiting for weather to cooperate), we’re ready to open up Skyline to all of you this Saturday, December 17, at high noon.

"We’ll have a short ribbon-cutting ceremony, share a few thoughts on this new chapter in the story of Sugarloaf, and then let you all have at. The first 100 of you up the lift will even receive a commemorative, one-of-a-kind tshirt to mark the occasion.

"The official first four seats on the lift were auctioned off over the summer, with all of the proceeds going to four local non-profits: the Sugarloaf Charity Summit, the Western Maine Center for Children, the Sugarloaf Ski Club, and Carrabassett Valley Academy.

"It’s looking like a fun weekend and snowmakers are expanding our open terrain all the time, so come on out and join us for this historic event on Saturday."

See you there!

Can any trail with moguls really be that much of a secret?
