That's probably a bit too optimstic. We are still in the peak season, and they want to ensure there's a viable product on the hill until at least next weekend. Expect snowmaking to wind up soon thereafter. I don't see any realistic chance for an extended spring. A "non-curtailed" spring is about the best you could hope for.

I don't see anything BS about it. Yes, some people complained on AZ. Chris Nyberg can't sneeze without someone complaining that Pres. Smith would never have done it that way.
Since Greg bashed a Bay 1, I don't read that forum any more . . . but, is AZ really the “be all and end all” of knowing what happens, or what happened, at Killington :? :bull :seeya

Greg stopped by at a Bay 1 and he felt that he was not properly welcomed.

You had to be there to understand. Leave it at that.

That's a bit misleading, HS. K was called out, but Chris Danforth responded, and explained how it's different. My interpretation was that they used some different tooling and were actually aerating the snow (or the ice pack). I'd be interested in seeing a video of the machine in action and/or skiing the results. If it's really different, they should put a new symbol on the trail report indicating "renovated" (as opposed to merely groomed).

As for Greg, other than his creepy obsession with Sundown, he seems decent enough. Both he and the new owner Nick are a bit heavy handed in the moderation on AZ, but they have advertisers, so I guess that's to be expected. I know the incident, and it was at least 3 or 4 years ago. Life is too short to carry grudges, time to let it go...

It wasn't really a big deal - he stopped by the Bay 1 BBQ site, and wasn't treated like one of the crew. He was a first timer that not a lot of folks recognized so it wasn't a great experience for him I guess. Not that big a deal IMHO.

so does renovating a trail vs just grooming it really make a difference? When I ski down a newly "renovated" trail will I know it? Maybe they do something else, but I highly doubt it makes much difference in the snow surface. I have to make a note of which trails were "renovated" at night and see if it makes it any better.
