You saw my crash?skiadikt wrote:btw, how are those speakers. from the lift, i saw your crash as you hit a jump under the south ridge triple return.
That was a good one. There was much more lip on that jump than I expected. I thought I was gonna hit the chair above me. I got caught starting to roll forward trying to compensate, landed on my tips, and completely yardsaled...speakers off the helmet and everything.
T4K said it was scary, not because he thought I got hurt, but because of the skis flying directly at his face...
Speakers were OK tho, just had to pop em back on.

yeah i was just a little ahead of you guys. you're pretty identifiable out there. and when you have a yard sale, you've got a bit more to sell than your average skier. :)Stormchaser wrote:You saw my crash?skiadikt wrote:btw, how are those speakers. from the lift, i saw your crash as you hit a jump under the south ridge triple return.

Dork's first words to me this morning were "Is your Alexandra a psycho too?"tyrolean_skier wrote:Last night when SkiDork picked me up at SCS's house, he told me that the Snow Princess had done two things that I would be upset about. The first one was that she decided to cut her own hair once again but this time she cut it in some many places that there is no way that I can correct it without the aid of a professional. I estimate that she will look like a boy for the next six months or so because it is going to have to be cut so short to even it out and her hair grows very slowly. The second one was that she decided to swallow a penny just see what it would feel like. SkiDork is taking her for X-rays this afternoon because the doctor wants to know if the penny by any chance went to her lungs.
I told SkiDork that he should take pictures of her current hairdo so that I can put them in her baby book. I am sure that years from now it will all be very comical. I also want to write down the fact that she swallowed a penny for posterity.

It works differently in our house. C was supposed to be spending a few days solo a K this week/weekend leaving the kids in my care. My son, however, begged her to take him with her. When she asked why he replied "Cause Dad thinks we're in the Army"

This post is pretty funny - especially if you look over at Dork's new avatar weirdly grinning at you at the same time. You kind of understand where SnowPrincess might get it from if that is true.SkiDork wrote:She can't get pissed at me because she know what a psycho SnowPrincess is, and has had stuff like that happen to her while she's on watch.

Too bad you did not call out at the K1 since Carol was enjoying recollecting good times with SCS. We ended up riding the K1 with Gordy and his son but the liftie prevented Carol and her husband from joining us. She put in two singles instead. Gordy was a bit miffed by that and I don't blame him. You are correct about the other sightings as well - you cannot miss those speakers on Stormchaser.skiadikt wrote:yeah you were deep into it though you seemed to give a wave. thought i also saw you w/gordy early in the morning at the k1. ottojay & i also saw you & the crew coming out of the lower snowden woods as we were riding the slowden quad (again those unmistakeable speakers).tyrolean_skier wrote:I never heard you skiadikt. My youngest swallowed a quarter on my wife's watch. We did the x ray thing too. They said if it was a penny we wouldn't need to worry but since it was a quarter we needed to watch for the exit. That was "loads" of fun.RedRider wrote:If my kids did that while I was 'watching them' My wife would have excruciated me!!
I hope you went easy on him, my kids do stuff behind my back all the time!!
(We men just don't have the "Mommy radar" you know....)
On the bright side, at least she won't have a copper deficiency
Finally had to go back for another x-ray to make sure it was gone.
This all happened last spring. The worst part... The kid still thinks he's suposed to leave it in the toilet without flushing.
I remember when Pedro was in college, my parents dog ate $300 in small bills of his! What a spring break that was for him.backintoit wrote:My youngest swallowed a quarter on my wife's watch. Re: Going up (often) with baby.. options?
Killington offers day care for kids as young as 6 weeks old. Here is a link to that information. http://www.killington.com/sections/HTML ... 1217079004Mack wrote:Hi.
I was wondering. A few of the people here have kids.. so I figured I'd ask the experienced. My wife and I are having our first (hopefully) this week. Up to now, our skiing has been pretty much me going up to Killington on a half-share, with her on a quarter share.
Now.. with a baby, I am wondering what my options are for when the wife and baby come up with me (I may still be able to go on my own once a month or so.. she's pretty cool). Also, what are some affordable ways of doing so.
Will I pretty much be forced to start doing the hotel thing? (big ouch from a $$ standpoint)
What are options regarding Day Care and/or Babysitting if we both want to ski?
Thanks

Ty - my daughter cut her own hair the week before Christmas when she was about 3. Her brothers were "watching" her. The hairdresser repaired it somewhat, but prior to cutting it she had prettly blond hair down past her shoulder blades. The "cut" involved taking off two large chunks in the front on either side of her face, so even after the repair, the hairdo had some qualities of a "mullet!" As for the "psycho" part...since she is the youngest after 3 boys, the phrase in my house is "Girls are high-maintenance!"
