Thanks for all the input!
So I guess from the daycare/child care standpoint I shouldn't be worried and using the K day care will work.
Then regarding lodging, it looks like my options are either finding a share house that allows small kids/babies.. or doing the hotel thing when we come with the baby (then I guess I have to start looking into what are good lodging deals there on a place that is kid friendly). The hotel thing may be an option, since the wife and kid will probably only go up about once a month (while I'll go up twice but then I can just get a quarter share somewhere for when I go by myself).
going up to killington often with baby - options?

Actually she'll probably be doing a few runs with us during B1BBQ season. The rest of the time she'll undoubtedly be playing the in the mud and snow so we'll have to dress her in the crappiest clothes we can find.DrJeff wrote:Ty, sounds like you and Dork have 2 weeks to get all the loose change and scissors out of your placetyrolean_skier wrote:I agree with Dr. Jeff that you should get a season pass if you plan on being at K often. My daughter has been in the ministar program since the first weekend it opened and she will be there on the last weekend it is available (BMMC weekend I believe). By that time she will have spent 39 days in ministars. I believe I paid a little over $1500 for the season pass so I figure it cost approximately $40/day for lessons and lunch. She is doing great in her program. It is after they close and before they open that we will have a problem in that one of us will have to spend time with her while the other skis. Of course now she will be able to ski with us for a good part of the day too.DrJeff wrote:Definately look into the season pass option for daycare if your planning on skiing alot. My wife and I got it for my daughter (14.5 months old) and for the $1000 we paid, she's had 31 days in daycare on it (just under $30 a day so far and I'm planning on having her use it 3 more days before it ends in 2 weeks).
As Ty correctly noted, you will get to deal with coughs/colds/etc though, but as my wife and I look at it, it's just exposure to strengthen my daughter's immune system before she's on the hill in a little over a year.
BTW, while I only have a couple of days experience with the daycare at K, I can't say enough good things about the daycare at Mt Snow. This has been the one true area where something that ASC has done/runs has completely EXCEDED my expectations!![]()
My daughter came home from Mt Snow daycare today with multi colored hair from finger painting! I guess I should have taken a couple of more runs so they could have gotten her fully cleaned up before I picked her up, Oh well atleast we have some nice new "artwork" for the refrigerator now!

If you go home with random mittens or gloves you'll be ahead of the game! More times you'll find that you get there without and you'll be in the ski shop for replacements!DrJeff wrote:I'm just waiting for a year or 2 from now when I'm sure we'll be coming home with random mittens/gloves, etc. And I know we'll be dealing with a lost pass or 2 in the coming years![]()
