Half was skied into oblivion yesterday. I'm thinking this will ski like 2 little freshie days in a row. Yesterday was a goggle glazed low snow afternoon. First time I ever saw icing in a 10 degree snowstorm. From 4 pm to 4 am, every time I looked outside it was thin wispy light snow falling. We never got even an inch an hour rate. Blower rules, but thin blower on a thin marginal base will not make a wonderland out of the Nat trails. Not pushing for first chair, doing the family thing.
I see the homestead gained 200' in elevation, Volcanic eruption overnight?

Def. not a dud in Berlin, CT

Woke up Saturday morning and opened the garage to this...

Took us two days to completely shovel out...

After having my vacation canceled and unable to make the trip up to K Thursday I decided to make the best of a "bad" situation. Other than having to shovel the snow, it was pretty epic...

Great post with those pics! Definitely makes me feel better about the other half of the only 14" I still need to clear from my place.

2' here I paid to clear my driveway and I still have to keep shoveling because the plow truck keeps burring the driveway entrance.

Moved from Berlin, Ct to Mendon, VT a decade ago to live where the snow piles up like that. Feeling a little ripped off on this storm. Thanks for the pics.

Just got home and plowed. Measured 17-20 inches in the driveway, but based on nearby reports it used to be much deeper. We did have about 40 inches drifted against the garage door. Took 4 tries for the opener to open it.

I guess I'm glad that it didn't pile up like that up in Killington considering I couldn't be there, but I feel bad saying it because I would have loved to enjoy it. My buddy who owns the house did say if I took off and he was left to have to shovel out himself he would be single because he would have said something stupid to his fiance because he was so frustrated with having to shovel out alone and I would be homeless because I wasn't there to help. It worked out for everyone I'm thinking.

I still can't believe the amount from some of the pictures I took. I can honestly say I shoveled more snow this past weekend than I have in my entire 26 yrs on this earth combined. (Luckily Dad had a snow blower when I was younger I don't think I've ever seen that much snow on Long Island in one storm)

Another potential for 3-6" on top of what we received here but I have to say the r*in from yesterday really knocked some of the HUGE snow piles down a notch. Currently 40* here and the sun is now shining... Go figure!

Down here in the flatlands we are supposed to gt more snow tomorrow. Hope the sun melts a lot of what we have now to make room for this coming snow. This is a southern storm with the top of it hitting LI at least according to the forecast.

Don't know about by you but its sad seeing it dimish so quickly. Those HUGE walls of snow in my pictures aren't so huge anymore. I can actually see down the street backing out of my driveway now.
