I'm thinking all the refugees have been repatriated. But I will still say,

Thanks, Win. You may not have the spotlight this year, but you led others out of the forest in a dark hour. Hope you keep paving new roads up there.

Today was it. I was afraid that would happen as I changed my plans and didn't go today. Was going to head up tomorrow as I had business there Mon. morn. Oh well. I had some awesome spring skiing in April. ; }
Now , maybe I haven't skied Sugarbush enough to know the character well enough...HS 4/17/2007

Guy at the ski club meeting last night told me that the lift line at the Bush was 45 minutes long due to the free ticket. He bailed after lunch.

Just goes to show you there's a heck of a lot of people that like to ski but are priced out of the sport still due to the economy. Waterville ran some great deals on the day ticket side and got a better increase than other resorts. Mostly, their change of strategy was to drop the price on Tuesday (by a lot) w/ Temp Tuesday, by $20 on Dunkin Wednesday, and by $14 on Thursday and include a free lunch but they had an effective price increase of $11.50 on Monday and Friday due to $20 off vs 2 for 1. No wonder why they got a 23% increase in skier visits while Sunday River only saw a 7% increase. Was at Waterville for the $17 day and it was packed to the gills... White Peaks line was backed up to Quadzilla, Quadzilla line was running up the hill, and Sunnyside even had a 10 minute wait. Even there were lift lines midweek for their $43 tix and I talked to quite a few people who chose Waterville to save significant $$ over Loon or Cannon. Sunday River increased pricing even more while all this is happening. With how many chairs go up empty their midweek due to how spread out it is you'd think they'd cut the price midweek but they don't.
