Re: Storm Late next week. Get your Snorkels On!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot has to happen and fall into place. Energy coming up the east coast has to push into colder new England air without completely displacing it. I suspect the usual early season altitude sensitivity will be the key determining factor. Since there will be a fair amount of cool to cold air in our region for the previous few days, I am hopeful for at least a wet snowfall above Rutland elevation.
I am still waiting for that first snowfall that covers the earth west of us (Great Lakes region and eastward to Appalachians). That affords a lot of reflected sunlight back into the atmosphere and not getting absorbed by the earth. That helps the seasonal cooldown start up and stay in place. Moist energy events do not get warmed as much in the day as it travels east, it all cascades into better chances of snowfall in VT.

Straight Up.
Early season storms are only good for the BEASTS snow total number. Not a productive base building winter storm.
Either I love snow. Snow on the bar or on the hill. Lets party.

Looks like we will be getting some snow here on Long Island from this storm. Don't need it here.

Puking at my house right now. Nice to see the white stuff but I like to see it 285 miles from here better.tyrolean_skier wrote:Looks like we will be getting some snow here on Long Island from this storm. Don't need it here.

1.5-2" on the ground at my house when I woke up this morning. Snow has stopped and it's melting slowly...
