the most cost effective thing would be to blow as much snow as possible when it's frigid cold. That was derailed this year due to the challenging snow season.

Use a smaller trail the SS. Upper Down Draft was great you don't need a trail the size of SS for late season skiing and riding.

Correct.

They called it something like "snow-coat" and as you skied down towards the base you'd pass by a bunch large rolls of tarps (the size you see at major league baseball stadiums for the infields).

Jiminy quickly found out, and they used theirs mainly for early season snow preservation, that they amount of time and manpower to both deploy, secure and they re-roll the tarps, especially the re-rolling part on the back side of a thaw/r*in even when they wanted to get the snow guns going again as quickly as possible was a major issue.

If K adopted something like this, with the weekend only late season strategy, it possibly could work as the rush to deploy and re-roll the tarps wouldn't be as much of an issue. Also, given the acreage of Supe vs. the acreage of say a major league infield, that would be a HUGE amount of tarps that would be needed and to be dealt with. Jiminy if my memory recalls correctly from 25+ years ago when they tried this, was only covering an area the size of maybe 3 or 4 football fields, and that was also just flat, beginner terrain. Quite a bit different than Supe

At this time of year, Killington could attach a trailer (think hay ride) to the back of a groomer. Close the lift altogether which would save Killington a lot of money, assuming that the cost of running and staffing a lift is more than fuel cost and an operator for a snow groomer. The trailer could seat about 25 people, you could set up 2 or 3 of them as needed. Use the snow groomer-trailer combination instead of the lift to take skiers up as far as the snow pack allows.
