C'mon. The best base lodge is at the bottom of the best snow.

Can't believe this is a ski forum.

Suicide Six, Burke (upper lodge) and Middlebury Snow bowl all have nice base lodges. Bromley's lodge was expanded from the original several times. The oldest section in the back left is pretty cool. Sugarbush North is nice. I guess I like the old quaint ones.

I think it's a tossup between Snowbasin and Deer Valley.

The mountain I am skiing at on that particular day. Each has its own charms. Only a few are real eyesores, like the Okemo base lodge!

Killington has NO nice lodges. Even that square block on the top of the mountain feels like you're in an empty warehouse. There is absolutely no charm or anything Vermont about it. I find it appalling that with all Killington has to offer they're just sitting back and letting the competition around them pass them by in all aspects and seasons of the business. Even the town is just becoming old and stagnant. despite whether you like the oldest lodges or not because of its history or whatever you feel, it simply does not bring the people that pay the bills. I hear over and over and over again from people visiting say how much they like the mountain but most likely will not return to the outdated and just downright old lodging establishments as well as just old no-frills base lodges.

The best skier's base lodge generally resembles a dive bar --- the dirtier the base lodge, the short the lines and the faster you get back on the slopes.....K's baselodge is definitely up there near the top.

I'll add another vote for Snowbasin!

I will be curious though to take one of my multiple friend's offers up to go check out the new 80,000 sq ft, complete with a lap pool and a media room for uploading one's GoPro videos to Facebook quickly, base lodge at the Hermitage Club when it opens (expected completion date is in November), I have a feeling that it won't be too shabby!

I work for the company who runs the valet there, the lodge is HUGE, and will probably be the nicest around( haven't been inside). That's what you get for $60k initiation plus $2500 yearly...
