The law proposed here would be to keep right except to pass... Shouldn't this be the law everywhere? - C

Many times, the slower driver will decide, "I'll show them," and drives even slower instead of getting out of the left lane, he said.

The faster driver then passes on the right, cutting off other motorists, or tries to pass on the left in the median, losing control.

Coggins disputes opponents who say that the bill would punish people for maintaining the speed limit.

No one wins when a crash happens, he said.

"Don't put yourself in that position to get rear-ended. You can get yourself hurt or killed," he said. "Be part of the solution, not part of the problem."

I totally agree with this last statement. Too many people have the parent complex "I'll teach them by going slower" or "I'll teach them and speed up as they pass so they can't get back in". That's what causes a lot of problems. Be the bigger person and let the idiot go by.

I dont mind when someone wants to pass: I think of them as cop bait and let them by immediately.

I must admit that on the drive home Sunday night the idiots in the left lane going slow were mostly from NY. For some reason they were all in the left lane and the right lane was pretty clear. It was r*ining but if you want to go slow then get into the right lane do not clog up the left lane. Thank God that at least the right lane was clear so I could stay in cruise control.

Actually someone flashed me and I moved over. This car must have been doing at least 90+ because he was traveling very fast. He kept dashing in and out of traffic. Sure enough sometime down the road I saw flashing lights and when I passed it was the car that had passed me that was getting the ticket. So in this case your point was proven.

Not to hijack this thread but, Ty and Dork.... I believe I was driving behind you on the Thruway on Sunday evening somewhere between exits 18 and 16..... it was around 9:00 or so.

Not that it really bothers me that my real name is on the board from you. Do you get a thrill out of using people's real names on the message board? You realize you annoy the sh*t out of most of us and we don't really want to see you anymore. Reason being that you've backstabbed, harassed, annoyed, took personal jabs at a lot of us both public and backchannel, and even sued a couple.

Why don't you just go back to your little "village" and play with yourself like you always do.

That sounds about the time I would have been in that area although I think we hit the tolls at exit 16 after 9:00. I was driving at that time.
