Windy out there, probably going to be wind holds. I'd wait until 10 or so just to be safe.

7"+ Powder Day! Most lifts expected on time. Delays: K-1 & Upper Skyeship (8:30), Needle's Eye Quad & Ramshead Carpet (9:00)

7:32 am 01/18/16--The Beast is gaining momentum, skiers and riders, expanding terrain at every turn. With the trail count reaching into the high seventies for Monday, and new snow piling up, Killington is on pace to more than double open terrain this week.

Our favorite weatherman is calling for continued snowfall on Monday beyond the 7 inches that fell overnight, certainly enough snow to prompt Killington patrol to open a few more trails. As the snow continues to dump, our snowmakers will keep giving Mother Nature a run for the money, coating Easy Street, Highline, Wildfire, and several other trails with even more snow. With several days of very cold temperatures in the forecast, conditions are ripe for making snow down to Skyeship Base and Sunrise Village this week. Please note that, at this time, only Stage 2 of the Skyeship is open, and there is no skiable terrain down to Sunrise Village.

Monday's early risers will find fresh corduroy on 60 trails ranging from learning terrain at Ramshead and Snowshed to advanced and expert trails like Skyeburst, Superstar, and Needles Eye. Those looking to capitalize on fresh snowfall would do well to check out Escapade, Powerline, and Wildfire.

Was more than 7 inches at 8:00 am. Kid was knee to waist
deep on upper chute to open up the morning. Many many tracks to be had so far.
Taking our warmup break now in K-1 then gonna check out some of the lower angle trees.
Will report back later or in the morning. No crowds to speak of
so far.

Squeeze play open and good snow. Just watch crossing the streams and crossing the road.

Yep, a true powdah morning. First runs pretty incredible. Hit a virgin Northstar and a barely tainted Vagabond. Royal Flush top to bottom - no poaching required. Tasty boot deep pow for the early birds, but it got carved up quick. Dabbled in the woods – very good if you are a lightweight snowboarder grommet type, still a little too sketchy for, um, this more mature skier.

Looks amazing, but beware, stuff still hiding in there

Those Ruskies were getting some sick air on Highline.

Awesome morning, cold and still snowing when I left.

Trees are almost ready......almost.

There was nice snow in the lower angle trees this afternoon, but.....

Found some snow snakes in Squeeze, Pins, 1UFP, 2UFP, and Final Jeopardy, but snow was great if you were careful. After the 1st snow snake, we were a lot more careful. You should be too. Was really nice to get back in the trees finally though. Snow was deep considering what this season has been so far.

Need one more storm for the lower angle stuff. Heard that Light WAS NOT ready. 2nd hand report there. Assume higher angle trees to not be ready, and probably won't be ready all season, so everyone stay out of them. Tell your friends.

Really starting to look like winter again. Yay. Come get some.....

Anything flat was great today - next foot and the hill is officially open border to border.

Lots of trees and branches in the woods - watch out - this is when people get hurt in there.

It was a powder afternoon too, if you knew where to look. We found this was on our way back to Sunrise at 4:00PM...

I hear yah, but if you think something is worth poaching for the powder, you should also be willing to poach the run-out back to the lift.

Of course, I think all poaching is bad and would never do something like that myself.
