Yeah, buy an Apple. End of story. I had a rash of clients using Windows ME in their offices, and I made it go away real fast...

well, comparing MacOS (or tiger or whatever it's called these days) to WinME is a bit unfair, seeing as how ME was MS's worst.

For your average home computer user there is no comparison between Mac OSX (Panther now. Tiger is out in a week) and any product Microsoft pukes out of their factory. I use a PC all day, and for stability, ease of use, and security my PC isn't playing in the same league as my Mac. If you're a hard core techno dork I understand the PC is a necessity. Otherwise, other than the expense in acquiring a Mac (which I feel is worth every penny) your average home computer user would definitely benefit from the Apple...

Macs are nice, and they look cool too.

You know, I don't think I eat enough apples. Apple a day??? Try an apple every 3 months! I generally eat healthy though. (e.g., limited pork product intake) So, should I make more of an effort to eat more apples?

snowsprite wrote:blatant hijack but I am very stoked...my 20 gig Datastor portable external hard drive arrived this morning. It's about the size of an ipod and is powered right off the USB of the computer...so no additional wires except the one USB cable. It comes with a velvety soft case too. Damn well made my day!
:D

Nice! I just bought a 250gb firewire drive. My music collection is getting out of control.

ouch! Worst POS MS ever made. Dump it fast!

What are the specs on your PC? If it's fast enough maybe we could put XP on it.

Specs: Pentium 4 Processor at 2.0 GHz
40GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive

However, don't I need an "upgrade" as opposed to the full program? Correct me if I'm wrong but if I don't use an upgrade program, I'll screw up my computer?

Now thanks to Spanky, I may have my problem solved.... did a little research from his google link (after my panic and bad mood was finished I prolly would have done that), I got a program called XPlay2. About to upload it. Hope it works.

I used to be a very Happy Mac User. Loved my Macs but went to PC's 'cause of work and when Apple was having problems around '93/'94.

You ain't got your pass yet? Only 2 weeks left for the GREAT deal.

I hope they raise the price double after that to reduce the hords on the hill next season. I need a weekend job so I can go up to MRG weekdays and get a pass up there.

Well, you know there are remedies for such conditions my dear. Maybe you should see B) or someone close by. :)

Doc, I'm not even going to ask what you mean by "remedies for such conditions." Coming from you, God only knows what you mean.

My brain is total mush right now.
I need to bite the dust and purchase an XP upgrade (need to restore the iPod to factory settings and I can only do it with the software  ). They have it at Staples for $89 and I have a $10 coupon from them. Hopefully BestBuy will let me return this software that I paid $29 for.
I'm usually pretty good with stuff like this but this sucks. I have never had such problems with software and/or a device.

Off to bed 'cause we're going to the Hunta Brew Fest tomorrow...... and guess what.... it's supposed to r*in.....
