Northern New Jersey Restaurant Recommendations?
Looking to meet another couple for dinner on a Monday, early evening, between Mahwah (staying just off Route 17) and Bergenfield (close to Route 4). That covers a lot of ground. Nothing too fancy. American, Italian, Chinese...all would work. Thoughts?

River Palm is a good choice, a tad pricey. Along the line of a NYC steakhouse. One in Mahwah, another in Fairlawn just off Route 17. Folks like Cafe Panache in Ramsey but not one of my favs. In Saddle Brook, just off the Parkway, try the Midland Brew House - good vibe.

Yeah, got the app on my phone but prefer Trip Advisor. I also know a lot of folks here can add personal opinions on the area's eateries. Now shut up kid and get the hell off my lawn.throbster wrote:NSR

That’s Junior’s neck of the woods. I’m guessing Montclair is too far?

Re: Northern New Jersey Restaurant Recommendations?
Thanks. A bit out of the way but might work. Prefer something easy such as a restaurant on or just off either 17 or 4 between Mahwah and Bergenfield. The other party generally doesn't use a GPS and has no sense of direction.Skibumtress wrote:Seriously? You'll be in my backyard?

Chipotle on 17 is always an option or the fireplace restaurant.

Looking to do a little better than either of those, but thanks.
Let me see if I can narrow down the criteria.
Should be moderately priced, reasonably casual and not generally considered as "fine dining", and located on or close to Route 17 or Route 4 for someone driving from Bergenfield. From looking at Trip Advisor, El Cid looks interesting and with a recommendation from G-smashed, that looks like a potential winner. Also saw Grand Luxe Café on Trip Advisor. Anyone know anything about that? I'll be in the area Monday evening of T-Day week so plenty of time between now and then to consider options.
Thanks for the help. It's been a long time since I lived down that way, thus the need for recommendations.
