My daughter and her crew already "called it a day" today (they were at K since Friday), for precipitation she texted that "stuff" was flying around, not exactly snow and not exactly landing!

Tomorrow I'll be at Cannon for my typical Monday, and they also "called it a day" today and with 4-6 inches expected, I'm hoping for a repeat of the Monday after the Superbowl (when the upper mt had never opened Sunday).

another day chasing down open lifts. a mistake starting at bear as the groomers were still on the hill. told an 8:30 start which when it turned into 9, took the shuttle to skyeship base. ah yes the micrometer ... seemed like about an inch and a half when i left 12:30ish. not terrible but not particularly inspiring either. lots of garbage snow but we did find some good stuff. leeward side of certain trails had collected the new snow. duel rotd were mid downdraft & mid o which were hardly skied and reaped the benefits. actually completed my eights on upper bear claw. upper & mid supe skied well but lower was a chop suey of chunks, sugar & ice. apparently ben & jerry's made a delivery which was served up on a number trails and upper wildfire featured coral reef bumps & dust. nivis (closed) featured quite a couple of interesting snow sculptures. once again the mtn did an admirable job handling another of mama's curveballs.

They got about 2 inches of dense snow by the time I left at 1:00. The snow is not wet.
I get all the news I need from the weather report

On the hill from 9-11:30 and not nearly as bad as predicted. Never got higher than Superstar quad so wind was not a factor. Superstar from top to bottom was actually pretty good and Sky Lark and Bittersweet were kind of crunchy but still fun. For a day that I only expected to ski an hour it was actually enjoyable.

And MANY THANKS to mountain operations for all the work on the recovery this week. They made limoncello out of lemons.

Adding to skiadikt's report. Before meeting up with him in the morning, I skied OL and decided it was not a do-over. After he left in the afternoon, RustyK and I went over to Snowdon where we skied off the poma and found good snow on Mouse Run and Mountain Training and some on Bunny Buster but not the whole trail. Mouse Trap had some pockets of good snow and slick in others. My ROTD was Middle Downdraft because I got fresh tracks on it all 3 times I skied it.

Out early (for me) to Sup to fight the pellets trouncing my face on the lift.

GS skis worked well as long as there was not much snow or granular.

Ty and Pete over to Bear to meet Skiadict.

Garbage snow over there with Not Phil.

Needles closed so back to Sup. Middle O not bad with 1" on it.

Upper Downdraft better. ROTD lunch at the peak.

Got back out to freezing drizzle. Headed back.

Man...they need some more snow..
