Storm is getting colder. Snow forecast and NWS are looking better than yesterday.

I've seen it it do the opposite - up from high 30s to 50 now. Let's hope it reverses. Tough to see all the snow you make get flushed back into the pond.

All the makings of another major washout in the works - 50s and r*in, this is at least the 4th major freeze thaw cycle this year. The ski business in the east sure is a tough business.

FWIW from the NWS official meteorologist discussion posting:

Code: Select all

As of 405 PM EST Tuesday...For the third day in a row, todays
deterministic guidance has provided zero clarity in regard to the
weekend system with models now diverging widely from what little
consensus there was in yesterdays runs.
...

Code: Select all

Confidence in this forecast is well, low to say the least,
especially in regard to the ptype. Pretty confident the area will
see 1-2" of QPF which if a warmer solution was to play out could
have some hydro concerns, but I`m hedging towards the slightly
colder scenario for now. Expect this forecast to change over the
next few days with hopefully some clarity by at least Thursday.

A candle was lit at the K shrine. Short of sacrificing a bottle of Patron? Don't make me do it. I will take a bottle for the team.

still 4 days out and subject to change many times but this is scary ...

Saturday
r*in. High near 43. Strong and damaging winds, with a southwest wind 65 to 70 mph increasing to 75 to 80 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 100 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Saturday Night
r*in before 3am, then freezing r*in. Low around 32. Strong and damaging winds, with a southwest wind 65 to 75 mph becoming north 14 to 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 95 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
