What if I got first chair, but then fell off the chair half way up?

Haha, this one is easy, I have the answer for both myself and Tyrolean Skier...she would have been on the first gondi Nov 4th, the first day non-passholders were allowed as we parked next to each other as the first few vehicles in the parking lot, but she got out of the single line where she was 1st, in order to join me, and then she also knew someone else (I forget his name, but he was happy the Patriots lost to the Ravens the night before)...then she had a RFID issue so we didn't get on until the 3rd, 4th, or 5th gondi- which ended up being the latest lift to start my day that I got on for the season. (again, something I wouldn't have realized until these threads started, but now I do find it interesting)

Then you'd probably be hurt!

I feel the lifties should tell anyone who screws up on loading that they have to go to the back of the line, instead of having them load the chair they screwed up on or the next one.

That's some funny sh*t because it happened to me!
Not too proud to say...
Maybe 1990... Old Killington Double. Was first in line with a buddy for that old lift.
There used to be a very small pond right there in front of the loading platform... maybe 50 feet from the platform...
He reached for the bar. I wasn't fully prepared, since I had a Hot coffee that was more important!
I was turned to the side and grabbing the poles and ooops. Feel off right there maybe 4 feet in the air.
I still laugh about it.

Many times back in the day but the best was 1981 - 1st chair of the season on the old K double. I think the date was 10/20.
We got interviewed on ch 5.

The definition of getting first chair for me is if you're in line before the lift opens, you got first chair. If you were first in this line, then you got first-first chair. Almost every time I go skiing, I get first chair and sometimes first-first chair.

One time I arrived around noon. I just barely missed first chair by 4 hours!

That person that was happy the Patriots lost to the Ravens is a Ravens fan and he's almost always on the first chair. I'm impressed you remembered all that.

I remembered once Hatter started these threads...when I went back looking for amount of first chairs, I realized that was the furthest-back chair I got of the season! I guess I don't ski with my lollygagger friends enough anymore (my daughter and my niece that I ski with also prefer being out there before the lifts start, they've got the "need for speed", and love to rip fresh groomers).

How bout this...one of the guys that I was a Jay Peak regular with, in 5 years of having a place up there, he caught first Tram ONCE (and only because I begged him to after 20" or 30" snow had fallen during the previous day/night, and I promised I would have the truck shoveled out and warmed-up). He did however "lead the league" in "one and done" days, he'd head to the mountain with his dog to catch a lift at 3:50 to 4:00, mostly just to meet up with the rest of us in case we didn't head back to the house before partying.
