OT: Covid Vaccinations

Re: OT: Covid Vaccinations
Got my 1st dose as a level 1A healthcare provider in CT back on December 28th and my 2nd dose on January 27th. Was lucky enough that my local hospital which is basically across the street from my office had extra doses back them because about 30% of their employees that they were allotted vaccination doses for chose not to get them at that time, and our local department of public health then reached out to their database of registered level 1A healthcare providers and let us know that there was availability for us to get vaccinated if we wanted.

Similar to Bubba, I had preregisted on the VT DOH site for potential testing a coupla months ago. I became eligible a couple of days ago and tried to schedule an appointment 6:30 am or so. Site came back and said they would contact me when I could schedule. Got a text at 7:55 and was able to schedule Rutland appointment for this Saturday in less than 5 minutes.
My wife has been having trouble getting her 86 year old mom scheduled in MA. I've seen her spending hours on their website.

We got our 2nd shot this past Monday. Show up on time in Middletown and had the shot in about 30 minutes. Had to wait for another 30 due to my allergy from being stung. Radio ads in CT warn that only residents of CT can get the shots here.

The clowns in NY created a complete mess by making too many people eliglble all at once. in February you had over 10 million people scambling for the few hundred thousand doses the state got each week. And no central system. So the state, the county, the pharmacies, all have their own websites and they all work differently.

My Dads an ER doctor and has been vaccinated since December when he received his first. I’m scheduled in NY 3/20 as well as my mom. Working as an essential restaurant worker got me ahead in receiving a vaccine despite me being young.

Only the J&J vaccine used aborted fetal tissue in it's research. Modern and phizer did not.

Biggest issue in NH was scheduling thru the 211 call center.
Once we got someone on the line, the process was straightforward.
The Speedway Vaccination program last weekend was well attended.

Got a tip yesterday that there was a standby line for leftover shots at the Meadowlands super center. The line reminded me of the old A lift at Hunter.
We waited for 30 min only to find that there was no standby line. Later I tried websites for Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and Hackensack. Next time I'll buy a lottery ticket - the chances of winning are better.
