A whole bunch didn't get hit last year due to the extremely mild fall / late start.

I would suspect once the aforementioned trails are completed the move into Ramshead will start.

It's dumping out there right now! I wouldn't be surprised to see Caper and Lower Great Northern come online by the end of the weekend. Exciting times at the Beast!

I would imagine Skye Peak won't be ready until later this coming week.

They haven't started on Caper as of now. I would assume it is a priority because they need the Ramshead lift for the parking access and beginner terrain. It seems like they're mostly building out Snowdon now. Only trails they haven't touched yet, according to the snow report, are Highline and Conclusion, and I don't think they've made snow on Conclusion for a while.

Year before last for Conclusion.

I too am surprised at the Snowdon build out before expanding to other bases, but it makes sense if you have the equipment there and those loops charged already. Someone will have to confirm the trail report tomorrow that they actually are making snow on Great Bear, Upper Chute, MTS and Frolic. Pretty early for the first 3 there, but cool nonetheless.

It's odd that they are on Frolic and Great Bear without Caper and Lower Great Northern, but I would assume they would make a move there very soon. Once the World Cup is done, we'll see if they try for more terrain off Superstar. I think they already started on Lower Bittersweet but had to shut down for the race. Maybe Snowshed will get some attention this week as well. With the temps forecasted, I'm sure a lot of progress will be made.

What’s the over/under on getting Ramshead base open for next weekend? Looks cold most of the week. Hope for some (slightly) dispersed crowds for my return to skiing after 2 years out on ACL/MCL surgery.

They had the whole Caper route and all the connections into Snowdon lit up when I left today. They should have no trouble getting it open by next weekend.

Skied back to Ramshead under the guns today. Should be open later this week.

despite all the whining, killington continues to lead in lifts and open terrain and now that WC is in the rear view mirror, we should blow everyone else away. as mentioned the ramshead loop is being worked on. the optimist in me can also see LEF getting some love with a possible opening by the weekend. they'll also turn their sights to bittersweet to join supe & skye lark when the supe pod opens next weekend at the latest. excellent snowmaking weather all week. did i mention that we've been open 3 weeks longer than everyone else.

Sunday River, Mount Snow, and Stratton might have more open, but I thought what Killington had this weekend was pretty good. The natural snow of course made it better. I got a ton of skiing in today despite watching all of both race runs. There were no lift lines. Walk right on the K1 most of the day. As for next weekend, I don't think LEF is in the cards, but experts will get some terrain with Superstar and Great Bear.
