They had better get that order in ASAP. 2022 is already full on every manufacturer's schedule and 2023 will likely fill by the end of this season.

No bubbles - just a regular 6 passenger chair. No need to give the trash a canvas to graffiti or scratch up like the Snowdon Six.

Ramshead needs a bubble chair because the current chair is very cold on cold days. This might give beginners a nicer ride and they might then continue skiing and become the future generation of skiers.

I took the RAMS chair four times Sunday morning. The corral was full but the wait was surprisingly short.

Having said that, they need to figure out how to prevent groups from breaking up once they pass through the scanner gate. This happens a lot at the six pack. Six people go through the gate and then four people get on one chair and two on another.

an issue at the bubble for sure. at big sky now and they have an 8 and a couple 6's and the lifties do a great job ensuring the chairs go up full. they have a number of conveyors (which i don't care for) but perhaps they help the newbies get to the chairs.

think part of the problem at the bubble is the alignment of the lines. the line makes a 90 degree turn to get the gates and that's where the lines break up.

Conveyor loads have different purposes on detachable and fixed grip lifts. On detachables, they are intended to line everyone up at the load point so they all sit down at the same time. This is more important the bigger the chair is, so nearly all 8 packs have them. On fixed grips, they are intended to reduce the speed differential between you and the chair, as you are moving when you load, rather than standing still. Not every lift needs one, but if configured correctly, they can be useful.

They take away your control and give it to the machine. Feels strange moving but not moving - different balance point. I think of them like abs braking - works great most of the time and gives you steering control while braking, but there are some times I'd rather pump my brakes than let the computer take over.

I have ridded Loon's new 8 pack many times this season. It is a Doppelmayer install and not Leitner/Poma machine. The conveyor takes you to a fixed section where you load and it is a bull wheel load, 90 degrees to the line. It seems to work well and have not seen anybody go off into the ditch beyond. I did see one woman end up under the chair, however. My experience has been midweek and almost never see a full chair depart. There is no line management there.

one of my friends rode loon on a wet/mixed precip day and they got on the conveyor and the belt kept moving but they went nowhere and was just sliding. hes an expert rider and was pretty freaked out by it.

as for ramshead, i f*** hate that lift. i enjoy dabbling in the park (and those flat trees when conditions call for it) and would ride ramshead way more if they replaced that lift. but really, who the f*** thought it was a good idea to mix beginners and a fairly advanced park with multiple crossing lines in it? i wish it was possible to somehow cut a trail from the park back to the snowdon bubble. or put the park somewhere else. or add a second lift.

as for those who dont want a bubble because ...graffiti... holy f*** pearl clutching. go ride the snowdon triple then. avoid k1 and the skyeship gondi while youre at it. personally, im way more bothered by the bud light cans littered about than an occasional sticker or graffiti on a lift.

I am surprised this happened since the 8 pack loading is located inside a building with a roof over it. The also have a conveyer load on the 7 Brothers triple which is outside.

Good to hear that you're more bothered by an aluminum can on the ground that can easily be picked up as opposed to some piece of sh*t from Mountain Creek carving their initials in the bubble which can't be removed.
