The state of Superstar 2022

^^ hey ty!

yep crazy day, that was.
i arrived fashionably late at berk east for some night skiing.
instead they were about to close for the season at 4pm (they were the first to close in USA). headed to jiminy. en route heard for first time that broadway, NCAA, NBA etc were shutting down.
jiminy was a ghost town but skiied amazingly. hoopted and hollered on the fast corn knowing days of skiing might be numbered. left early to get to food coop for cat food.
got there and the lot was PACKED like a saturday at 9:30pm. inside lines of ovefilled carts queued to checkout. came for the cat food, stayed for the panic buying, and overfilled a cart of my own.
like a movie...
by the time i could get to VT w/o quarantining we were into june and the 3 small patches did not inspire.

I noticed on the webcam that there are people on the Superstar lift, yet it's not moving and hasn't for several minutes. Any idea what's going on? My guess would be patrol evac training.

Edit: they just posted on Instagram that there is lift evac training in the morning, followed by a staff appreciation event this afternoon.

May 6. Loss of snow is apparent. Mouse Trap and Middle Chute had good coverage with a few thin spots last weekend, today they are gone.

Sunday May 15. Comparing the 2 photos 48 hours apart, not as bad a snow loss as 80 degrees would imply. Mount Mike is no more. It's now Liftline Mike.

^ the open bottom with signage was a great improvement over the corralls of previous weeks, where many near-collisions were had.

i had feared much worse after saturday afternoon's typhoon - but that one likely cost us a week from wherever we were heading.

Grooming going on this evening at 7pm. Tower 4 still has it's foot in the snow, and the tower 3 water bar has started opening up.

They're selling tickets through the 30th (Memorial Day), which is the day I'm targeting to make one last ski outing for the year.
