Change the alignment, offset the top station from the existing station, leave the existing chair operational until the new one is ready, and then tear the old one out later...

The new top station may need to be pretty much where the current one is. They aren't going to put it on Nivis.

One word: wind.

There is a reason that top terminal is tucked in just after the breakover. That is the area that always was the culprit for closing Stage 3 of the original gondola.

yup. i'm sure they'll do all the surveys and engineering necessary to put the lift in the absolute optimized location. given that the machine is gonna cost $8-10 mil and will be here for what 35-40 yrs, they're gonna do everything they can to get it right. doubt losing a month of spring skiing is entering into their equation. oh yeah let's put it over there so we don't lose a month of spring skiing the year of the install.

Not likely to exceed $10M. SS is not an overly long lift or challenging install.

Check install costs for similar lifts over the past few years, and many had COVID labor and material inflation.

Camelback PA. D Line 6 bubble. Half the length and vert. $14m in 2022

Brightons D Line 6 last summer was $11/12 I believe.

Not a D line, and neither will Superstar be most likely.

That would include labor. No ski area has the in house expertise to install their own detach.

Pretty sure Holiday Valley in NY i installing their own Detach this year with in house staff. It was a 2 year install.

You're right. It's not their first either from my recollection. I should have said not many.
