Skyeship Gondola cabin photo gallery
Is there a photo gallery somewhere showing all the differently painted Skyeship Gondola cabins ? Or do I need to create one myself in the next week or two before they are all replaced for next season ? Is there a projected last day of operation for Skyeship this spring ?
Re: Skyeship Gondola cabin photo gallery
There once was a great documentary on KTV on the building of the new gondola and the artwork, including one cabin by Dan Chihuly.

according to the spring plan, last day for skyeship is march 30, though the needles area itself is scheduled to close april 13. not sure whether that means they just run the needles chair or whether they run stage 2 skyeship those last 2 weeks.urungus wrote: ↑Mar 12th, '25, 11:01 Is there a photo gallery somewhere showing all the differently painted Skyeship Gondola cabins ? Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

While I hope some make it into the wild, It would be cool if they could somehow make them into useable space somewhere on the resort. Maybe at the Needles Base with the Jerk Shack as seating? Just an idea.

Those cabins are so iconic, let's hope they go to good homes wherever they may be.

I have a lot of 54 Bob Perry original photos of various scenes at Killington in the late 1990's. Included are shots of the gondolas, including the "Hot Tub" cabin . . .

Speaking with a mountain guide today, so far the word is that they're not selling the cabins. They weigh 4,000lb a pop & don't want the hassle of transporting them.
Re: Skyeship Gondola cabin photo gallery
hopefully they reuse them as a seating area in their fancy new village.Jon_Von_Osbourne wrote: ↑Mar 14th, '25, 15:59 Speaking with a mountain guide today, so far the word is that they're not selling the cabins. They weigh 4,000lb a pop & don't want the hassle of transporting them.![]()

They have to do something with them... take them off the line and sell them in the skyeship parking lot

Stopped on my way down to creek the other day to grab the photos of the Highship boxes that you need. Got bored after I took a couple of shots. Easy to stop and grab a photo library if you need one just takes a little time.
