Too warm too early but damn I love spring skiing!
Favorite was probably lower Flush: Eastern technical dirt skiing at its finest! It’s done for me, at least until we get a good dump, and I hope I’m not talking December. Perhaps it will hang on by a thread through the weekend.
Nice to have the OL BMMC bump course set up so early. Lots of partakers (not me, left knee on a pitch count, but holding up okay for original equipment). Even saw Team PomPom and her young charges there. They’ve gone from Snowshed to rocking the whole mountain in a season. We were wondering how many kids she’s taught over the years; a lot!
South ridge holding up surprisingly well. Pipedream awesome, and Break still solid. The sacrilegious groom a while back almost certainly helped preserve snow. The area at the Jug-Handle fork is fully exposed; now that’s a rock garden.
Snowdon “Quad” made an old-school appearance. Loading 4 per chair after a midday shutdown. Running on diesel my last ride; all 7 corrals full. Is Jay done? Didn’t see him today.
The decks at KBL and the Ubar were hopping, lots were full, great day for the mountain, but it will be a short season if it keeps up.

Re: saturday 3/15
Afternoon Report: Yep, another spring beauty out there. Had to tighten up the defense a bit, butt that's par for the Saturday course. Actually, not as crowded [at K] as I thought it would be based on the parking lots. Pico was pretty much full right out to Rte 4 though.
Yeah, some sort of SNAFU at Snowdon; power issue? Had heard Snowdon 6 not running earlier in the day [think they switched to the Triple] and then we got stuck in a huge liftline there during the running on diesel / 4 to a chair situation [and Snowdon Triple closed]. Also had a long shutdown later in the day at Supe chair [one of those you have to wait for techs to come in from wherever on their sleds, climb up and hit the secret switch, etc.]. Not sure why the lifties on station can't do whatever it is.
LEF good with decent moguls that had formed by the time we got there. Saw team Pom Pom [though too warm for Merisa to be wearing a hat!] down in the canyon liftline. Cascade was excellent.
Breakaway / Pipe Dream also excellent.
Old Supe very good as was the rest of Supe; seemed like skiing it in May.
Needle's Eye area rocked once again with Vertigo, Stitchline, and NE proper well in play.
Bittersweet / Old Bitter very good though had to share it with our 'Eastern' friends. Lower Bitter with nice bumps for a while.
Finale Mouse Run / Conclusion sweet; Conclusion getting bare in one spot as I've posted the other day.
Fun Paddy's Day dinner [CB and cabbage] with some friends in the evening was ROTD.

Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down
Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

Re: saturday 3/15
wow bear was an even better call than i'd thought.
pulled right up to snow at 9:02am.
snow great from the get go
main area had little pull given the options at bear/needes/sky
i'd heard about snowdon but not ssq. i rode it a few times, never heard about outage.
the warm and sunday night forecast kept me out til last chair.
legs cooked, but more evenly by the soft (but a few times scary fast!) snow.
reminded me of that 80F april day two years back when a long season seemed all but impossible. the pattern turned cool after that. we'll need a snowy april!
