Re: Season passes
Anyone got an answer on this one. Noticed on the 365 page there's a several hundred $ charge for an Under 6 pass. Now over on the winter page it says Under 6 if free if you purchase an adult, 29-below or senior pass within the family. Seems I should be able to get a free pass (winter only) for my 4 year old along with my 365 right? He's way too little for mountain biking and an Ikon pass, but we're ready for Pico & Snowshed next year. Figured someone might have run into this before?

Re: Season passes
There's a fun trick which will apply to anyone with children who turn 7 between April 1 and Nov 1. If you manage to buy a beast 365 pass before their birthday, it will cost you $708, because they will be in the Child (6 and under) category. Pruchaing the regular winter-only pass will cost you $779 because the child will be in the Youth (7-18) category. This is because the age groups are based on different dates (presumably due to the Ikon rules). I did this last year for my now 7 year old who has an early April birthday, and it was great! (She's going back to a regular unlimited pass this year!)

- "Age group is determined by pass holder's age as of November 1, 2025."
Re: Season passes
Also for some crazy reason Killington doesn't offer discounted child passes for kids 7 to 12. A full Ikon pass with 7 days at Killington is just $369 for a 12 year old vs. $779 for the Killington Youth pass. Its actually cheaper for buy a full child Ikon Pass and a Killington youth pass (both will cost you $1,148) than buying a $1,308 Killington 365 pass for a 7-12 year old.

Re: Season passes
Good tips for the elementary age! Still a ? for the toddler set with the 365. Do I get the free pass for the 4 yr old? He's 3 now and wants to ski all the time so next year it's gonna go off
Re: Season passes
Because the child Ikon pass is $410 cheaper than the Killington pass if your kid will ski less than 7 days before the Spring passes go on sale you are better off with the Ikon. If you have a 5th grader you can buy the VT 5th grader pass for $35 and get 9 days at Killington and 2 days at Pico for $404 (plus all the other days at Ikon mountains & 2 days at every other mountain in Vermont) vs unlimited at Killington for $779. Killington passes are just WAY overpriced for kids 7-12.

Here's another neat trick - when your kid is 5 - tell them you're kid is 3..........AntiSoCalSkier wrote: ↑Mar 21st, '25, 16:32 There's a fun trick which will apply to anyone with children who turn 7 between April 1 and Nov 1. Re: Season passes
The past few years I’ve had to go to customer service in the K1 Lodge to add my under 6yo to my 365. There is no charge to add them. For some reason on the website you can add an under 6 to the unlimited pass but not the 365.Mistergiff wrote: ↑Mar 21st, '25, 13:39 Anyone got an answer on this one. Theft is the amount of money they charge a 7 year old to ski after the parents have paid for a pass - and $16 dollar beers - and lunches - etcLow Rider wrote: ↑Mar 24th, '25, 15:35Theft of services. Re: Season passes
True enough im sure. Governing body of triathlon has their system set to process people as 'age at year end' and if USAT can do it, anyone can. easy enough fix, not that i care so much if fixed or not.hillbangin wrote: ↑Mar 24th, '25, 17:39Theft is the amount of money they charge a 7 year old to ski after the parents have paid for a pass - and $16 dollar beers - and lunches - etcLow Rider wrote: ↑Mar 24th, '25, 15:35Theft of services. Re: Season passes
Recently lost my pass and had to get a new one. Then a week later I did it again, boneheaded I know. But the customer service people at K1 and Ramshead were extremely pleasant and helpful. Have also had many pleasant dealings with them in years prior. Maybe the problem isn't them?
Also, thank you for not renewing your pass. It's a net improvement to the community.

Re: Season passes
It's interesting that for just the Ikon pass the difference between base and full is only $400, yet its $600 to upgrade with the 365 pass??
Re: Season passes
I noticed that as well. Makes zero sense. The upgrade should cost the same as the price difference between the base and full ikon, yet somehow they are padding it with an extra 200 bucks.

Re: Season passes
It makes sense. The pricing is designed to make you want to buy a Beast 365 rather than buying the winter-only pass if you intend to buy any kind of Ikon pass in addition to your Killington pass.
Beast 365 plus full Ikon is cheaper than winter-only season pass + full Ikon.
Beast 365 that comes with Ikon base pass is cheaper than winter-only season pass plus base Ikon.
As for the cost side, we don't know what it costs Killington to offer these Ikon passes. For all we know they might be breaking even on that $600 full Ikon add-on. And the base pass I suspect they might lose money on given they require you to actually register for it, which means there are probably lots of Beast 365 passholders who never actually bother to get the base Ikon. The point is they want you to buy a Beast 365, and they probably saw in the numbers that a lot of people were not buying the Beast 365 because they wanted a Killington pass plus full Ikon (I have friends who fit in this category).
