Since you do not have to commit to the full Ikon until December with the 365, perhaps the $200 price difference factors in the late season Ikon price?

I noticed that as well. Makes zero sense. The upgrade should cost the same as the price difference between the base and full ikon, yet somehow they are padding it with an extra 200 bucks.
It makes sense. The pricing is designed to make you want to buy a Beast 365 rather than buying the winter-only pass if you intend to buy any kind of Ikon pass in addition to your Killington pass.

Beast 365 plus full Ikon is cheaper than winter-only season pass + full Ikon.
Beast 365 that comes with Ikon base pass is cheaper than winter-only season pass plus base Ikon.

As for the cost side, we don't know what it costs Killington to offer these Ikon passes. For all we know they might be breaking even on that $600 full Ikon add-on. And the base pass I suspect they might lose money on given they require you to actually register for it, which means there are probably lots of Beast 365 passholders who never actually bother to get the base Ikon. The point is they want you to buy a Beast 365, and they probably saw in the numbers that a lot of people were not buying the Beast 365 because they wanted a Killington pass plus full Ikon (I have friends who fit in this category).
Yes, of course they are designed to entice you to buy the 365. But, there is still no excuse/explanation as to why they are charging $200 more for the full Ikon add-on than what Ikon charges.

Why would they need an explanation or excuse? Do you ask the supermarket for an explanation of why they charge a different price for apples and oranges?

But if you think about it I think the explanation is pretty easy and I described it above. It probably costs them more to offer the full Ikon as an upgrade than it costs them to add the base pass as included with the Beast 365.

Seems they are offering the iKon add on at full price, they just don't give you the early buy discount. Being that you can still buy a 365 pass with the add on after the deadline to get the discount, it seems to make sense.

Perhaps excuse or explanation were the incorrect words. I meant it seems odd to me, is all. But, all is well. I'll still get mine.

I dropped the 365 because there was no full ikon upgrade. So there were a few of us.

I'm buying it this year. It will force me to go up a couple times this summer and play golf....

Snowbasin is giving a pretty cheap add on ikon to their winter pass. I think it's 2000 all in. Full basin full ikon.

Wouldn't it just be so much easier if we were just unlimited on Ikon and your season pass was your ikon pass?

I"m actually not convinced we would be that much busier than we already are if we were unlimited on ikon... people are already using their ikon passes as much as they can so to say it would make killington busier would have to assume that a lot of people would skip their Sunday river, sugarloaf etc days in order to ski Killingotn more (which is honestly doubtful IMO)

Will never happen.
If you look at the list of full time unlimited access ikon resorts:
Steamboat, CO
Winter Park Resort, CO
Copper Mountain Resort, CO
Arapahoe Basin, CO
Expanded Access
Eldora Mountain Resort, CO
Palisades Tahoe, CA
Mammoth Mountain, CA
June Mountain, CA
Big Bear Mountain Resort, CA
Snow Valley, CA
Stratton, VT
Sugarbush Resort, VT
Snowshoe, WV
Crystal Mountain, WA
Schweitzer, ID
Tremblant, QC
Blue Mountain, ON
Solitude Mountain Resort, UT

They're all owned by the Alltera Company except winter park, which is owned by the city of Denver, but operated by Altera. Copper and Eldora are owned by Powdr but are under the ikon umbrella.
Killington as we know is independent owned, actually fiercely independent if you believe the sign below rams head on the access rd and Powdr is a shareholders within that independent operation. Basically, ikon is a pawn in the whole killington operation.
I wouldn't be surprised if ikon and killington separated in the near distant future. I feel they kind of have outgrown their relationship. Time will tell.

Killington will separate from Ikon when the village is done.

2087..................

I'd love to know what K gets for an IKON visit.

I'm guessing $50 ?

They reported recently they were in a long term agreement with Ikon. I suppose someone could always somehow get out of it, but not sure.

From the website:
New this year, Beast 365 Pass holders will be eligible to upgrade to a full Ikon Pass for $599. This MUST be done at the time of purchase online.

You have to commit to the full Ikon Pass at the time you buy the 365 Pass. And so while you could wait until 4 December to buy a 365 Pass and get to avoid the extra cost penalty of buying the Ikon pass at the last minute, you're still hit with paying the highest price for the 365 Pass, plus you lose out on the summer benefits. And I'm not sure why the last minute pricing would influence upgrading to the full Ikon, as the Ikon Base has the similar cost increase at the deadline that doesn't influence the non-upgrade 365 pass price.

Anyway, we asked for it, they gave it to us, so I also don't want to complain too much. But a $600 upgrade is more than I was expecting. Thats a full Pico season pass! Buying a full Ikon Pass ($1,229 renewal) plus a K Unlimited Pass ($1,299) separately comes to $2,528. So you only save only $141 going to the upgraded 365 (if you just care about the skiing). And the Ikon Pass w/ the 365 doesn't have to include the days to K, which are the Ikon Pass' greatest value on the east.

I'll be curious to know how many people who said they'd buy it if it was offered (like me) actually bite on it for the upcoming season.

“New for the 2025-2026 ski season, Le Massif de Charlevoix, Quebec, has been added to the Ikon Pass, according to a press release obtained by POWDER on April, 3, 2025. The addition takes the total of Canadian destinations accessible with the popular multi-pass to nine.”

This seems like a very nice addition to the Ikon pass :Toast

Great offer. Wish Killington did this for the families.

So, should I get a $6 credit since I have reused my RFID Killington card for God knows how many years?
