Maybe cause lots of tele skiers started as alpine or snowboarders - but your right..
I hardely see a sucky tele skier... My self excluded... Cause I'm still learning... Got turning to one side down - still shakey on the other...

hey I'm in the same boat as you..My teli skiing is fair at best..I just picked up a pair of Karhu "Rucketts"(there the Line mavrick).
I hope to get back into it this upcoming season.....see ya on the belt!

WOW! ... what am I to do ... I never realized skidding was such a bad thing ... wonder if I can still skate (I used to play hockey) .... if not, I'm sure they'll let me in the sno-tubing park, or maybe not, is there an age limit there?

Eski. you should take up GS raceing.
In the past year or two there is a "New" way to approch the gates.
instead of keeping your skis"Locked" on edege.
one "Drifts" across the "Rise line" and as soon as you enter the "Fall Line" you "Hit em Hard" and put them up on edege.......Drift indeed...It's a Skid!
