wow, what a bunch of partakers and ex-partakers we have in here. i fall into the ex-partaker category except for when i'm skiing, at which time i often turn back into a partaker. I love "Kind" skiing, it goes so well together. It's that whole nature thing.
One snowy mid-week day last winter, i caught one of the last K1 gondis of the day with an older couple from CT. I had been partaking all day and held off on this ride up since i was fairly certain they would frown on such behavior.
when i got to the top, i decided i to hike up to Catwalk, burn one, chill out for a few minutes, and let the mountain empty out. it was spectacular up there with the sunset and the falling snow and well worth the short hike.
as it started getting dark, i headed down catwalk (which was basically a slab of rock and some ice) and made my way towards the south ridge and the rt 4 gondi base where i was parked. i was enjoying the empty mountain and the falling snow so much i pulled over into the woods in the south ridge to burn the last of my stash and take a wiz before the long ride down to Rt 4. by the time i stumbled out of the woods, it was almost pitch black, i was high as bat, and i had the most wonderful nighttime, empty mountain, snowstorm, stoned as a bat, 5 mile cruise down great easter/4-mile trail. I really do love “kind” skiing.

Passive aggressive, small action to incite a large reaction, very subtle and most times it works.Mtn Man wrote:I would decline, no opposition unless there's kids in the gondie. Then I'd take the lighter if need be.BobR wrote:As long as no kids around.

I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright.
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war.
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, then I smoke two more.

HEY HEY, reading all the skiing related stoned incidents, I was reminded of one someone I know had (not me).
He was riding a chair with 2 stranger and was asked if he would like a toke. Hell yea he said. Well, it was spiked or something because by the time he got off the chair he was blotto. He asked which way to K Base so he could catch the bus. Shook his head in recognition of the answer and took off, only to end up at BEAR. Again, he asked for directions and took off, only to end up at BEAR. Getting near 4 PM and totally confused, and stoned, he began to get upset, asking again. Then, almost in tears he asked if someone could show him the way.
Much funnier when he tells it, but funny just the same, He was in tears afraid he would miss his buss.

Spent 2 years skiing Hunter in the 70's and was mostly drunk or stoned at the mt. all winter long. But hey, it was the 70's, I was in my 20's and what was living and working in a ski resort all about anyway. Being a semiresponsible parent now, I'd have to decline thinking, been there, done that, bought the t-shirtand then threw up on the t-shirt. Have fun, but don't hurt anybody along the way.

After reading the post referring to the "cookie" I remembered a time when my buddy and I made a batch of brownies with a ounce of dope in the mix. We gave brownies out to our friends skiing Hunter that day cause the habit was to share on the lifts. The buzzes lasted into happy hour. great day skiing was had by all.
