any suggestions for a good free spam killer?

I roll with AVG on my network. Simple, easy, trouble free and FREE.

I don't like how Norton has worked for myself or my corp pc. Just doesn't seem to do enough. McGafee on the other hand SUCKS. During a download my pc hickuped and lost the partial definition files. Since the update never finished, McGafee sh*t the bed and died, along with my hard drive. Death was immediate.
AVG, even the free version seems really good, but I purchased it and am very happy.
I also have some other crap that came with my new pc, e-something. Doesn't seem to work well and loves to suck up CPU time.

AD-Aware used to be completly free, but now has some dummied down free version. It tells you it found SPAM and stuff, but you have to buy it to remove them. I believe it moves them to a cashe and holds them until the next scan as the numbers don't go up. I do know the full version works quite well.

Ah, very wise one. Found my version is ADWare, not Ad-Aware from Lovasoft. Will check it out.

Ah, but this version is for win 2000 or higher. I am running 98 on old PC so cannot use it :(

Hi Kings.. before Outlook 2003 came around and had the built in Spam feature I used to use something called Spambayse.http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/

It integrates with Outlook or Outlook Express and worked very well. It works best when you tell it a folder of good mail and then a folder of junk mail, so then it trains itself.

Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy, SypwareBlaster, Microsoft Windows Defender and Microsofts Malicious Software Removal Tool. I use them all along with Norton Internet Security which I pay for. The first 3 can be downloaded through Download.Com and the last 2 from Microsoft:

I use them all at home and a couple of them at work and I'm always looking for others. Unbelievable the sh*t you gotta do to protect your computer. Almost can't even do my job with all the Security on our network and PC's...

98 is the most horrible operating system Microsoft ever put out! I was so happy to upgrade it on my old PC to 2000. On my current PC which is 5 years old I have XP which works good. No MS operating system including Vista can be classified as Great, but what else are you gonna use?!
